ohh my god!! oh my god "just tell him burr might win" burr's INCREASED EXHAUSTED DESPERATION on the "honestly it's kinda draining" line and its lead up Jefferson being even more awful hot damn that laughter is giving me heart palpitations
AAA THEY HAVE THE WORKSHOP VERSION OF YOUR OBEDIENT SERVANT TOO http://bwuhbwuhbwuhbwuhbwuh.tumblr....to-the-workshop-version-and?is_related_post=1 THIS IS AMAZING
Oh. OH. I have gotten 30 seconds into this and I know what's happening. This version is actually paralleling the letters they wrote to each other, which started with a third party tattling to Burr about an insult Ham made in a private letter. Omg. omg accuracy. Here's a link to that thing again. Yeah, it's a direct parallel in this original version that they changed to a more fabricated but evocative conversation the second time around. I think it was a good choice, the musical version is a lot more forceful, sounds better both lyrically and rhythmically, and is waaaay easier to follow than a summary of the actual verbose letters. But I am really glad LMM did at one point turn their actual pre-duel correspondence into a rap battle.
omg why didn't they keep this version of Schyler Defeated + Let It Go Instead of Burr having already won the Senate seat, he's running and Eliza finds out and is all "fuck, i gotta find ur dad before he kills someone" and then when things get heated between Hamilton and Burr she shows up all "HI BURR HOW'S YOUR WIFE AND KIDS? OH LOOK AT THE TIME WE HAVE TO GO" and alex is like "but but but!" and eliza sings "let it gooooooooooo" and then washington shows up out of fucking nowhere because moiraillegance is magic
So I was doing my obligatory read-through-the-TVTropes-page and I found a statement that Jefferson gives a copy of the Reynolds Pamphlet to the conductor, @blue can you confirm because that's amazing
@Mala ooh i'd be interested in a bootleg if possible please!! i finally have convinced my sister to be interested in the thing
I had that problem just yesterday when I saw Ah, so you've discussed me. I'm a trust fund baby, you can trust me.
cause of death: remembering these lines from the last two songs Spoiler: rip in peace my heart The World Was Wide Enough: [HAMILTON] My love, take your time I’ll see you on the other side Who Lives, Who Dies, Who Tells Your Story: [ELIZA] Oh, I can’t wait to see you again It’s only a matter of time lies down on the floor, this play for some reason is my elemental weakness like if pokemon was about making people cry
CHECK THIS OUT Hamilton cleaned up 11 awards, and for what I think is the first time - all the major actor awards went to people of color. And - ok they didn't use the muskets this show, because of Orlando. And changing blocking, even so much as stopping a prop, on a day's notice, but still pulling the show off and bringing the house down, is incredible. And just, the raw emotion - Lin tears up 'gotta meet my son!' and everything and. MY EMOTIONS.
