So, the power supply in my PS3 appears to be fried. It's out of warranty, so I'm free to mangle the insides as I please - does anyone have any advice for how to possibly get it fixed? Because even with the post-PS4 price drop, a new one is Outside the Budget. Plus I'd lose all my save files. DX
Seems that you can pick up a PS3 power supply for about $30 off eBay and instructions for repair are out there: e.g. https://www.ifixit.com/Guide/PlayStation+3+Power+Supply+Replacement/3483 (this is for one of the early, PS2 backward-compatible PS3s; if yours is newer there may be better instructions out there).
