Conversely, a friend of a high school friend once got out of bed in the morning and noticed his black cat sitting on the floor across his bedroom, lurking in plain sight, as cats do. He crouched down and patiently began attempting to coax the cat with cat coaxing sounds. It was no use. Eventually surrendering to the futility, he got up, put on his glasses, and discovered he’d spent fifteen minutes of his morning unsuccessfully soliciting the attention of yesterday’s wadded up pants.

Fiyero scared the crap out of me today by making a sincere escape attempt while I was the only one home, but since then he's been being extra sweet and affectionate. It's very soothing to my anxious heart.
