Also... Cats are cats are cats. Cats today want to headbutt your phone when you try to record them or take their picture. Cats then wanted to headbutt the video camera when people tried to record them. Probably cats thousands of years ago would have done the same thing if a time traveler tried to record them. I love the continuity of cats

all about depictions of cats in art throughout history. not just cats as subject, but sometimes cats are there as, like, background detail or something. and they're all delightful. but my absolute favorite is this 15th-century fresco:
