I feel like this is the thread to tell folk how much my obnoxious shadow children enjoyed Christmas.

Their main gifts were one of those puzzle-treat boards where you have to slide the things around to access the treats, which they did pretty well with on Boxing day once I showed them how it worked, a play mat with dangly toys from mum, and a multipack version of Jet's favourite toy, the OG of which came in a mixed bag of cat toys from amazon and is looking extremely worse for wear 18 months down the line.

When I opened the bag for him, he came and sniffed, eyes wide, and then tried to abscond with the first toy he could grab. When I unwrapped it for him and threw it like I do with his original toy, he went absolutely APESHIT and spent the rest of the morning happily murdering it while the humans unwrapped their own presents and provided much wrapping paper to burrow under and yeet the toy into.

The OG Mr Piggie came in a big multipack of various different cat toys, so I had assumed it was catnip, but the new ones come with some silvervine/matatabi sticks, so I wonder if that's not what the toys contain instead? Either way, both Jet and Cinders go completely bananas for it almost more than they do with neat 'nip, so perhaps more science must be done. They got a prawn each and a little unseasoned roast beef for Christmas dinner and I'm so happy that they enjoyed their presents as much as we did.

I love speaking cat and human at the same time because from a cat body language perspective he looks incredibly content and sleepy in his donut of safety, but from a human perspective he looks like the world's biggest grumpus and is going to beat the everloving daylights out of whoever disturbs his Donut Time.
