I was reminded of this story this week.

My mom had a book club meeting for which she made a nice angel food cake with lemon icing. When it was time for cake she went to get it from the kitchen... and found a quarter-sized area completely bare of icing and Penny hiding under a chair. In the end she just sliced up the cake and tossed the afflicted area. (obvs she warned her guests before serving)

I assume miss mew got a stern talking-to, as in the five years since she hasn't shown any interest in cake. Pancakes and muffins, on the other hand, still need to be guarded.
