So... Spoiler: Rest and Ricklaxation Morty thinks that his having a moral compass and empathy is bad?
Spoiler I imagine, since he's never in the position to act on his moral compass, that it's never done anything for him but make him hurt. And even those few times when he is allowed to act on his impulse towards compassion, it backfires more often than not. Remember how the cloud-alien rescue went?
Spoiler Well, other people being trusting is certainly a plus for him... man, I gotta find a way to catch up on this season... is it on Netflix?
it is not, however you can watch it from adultswim if you have a subscription to cable. or, you can just watch it on dailymotion
New episode! Spoiler So the Atlantis trailer thing was another fakeout? YEP ok ...so I wonder if we're going to see any female Ricks. Aren't there more or less as many Mortys as Ricks? Maybe a few less, due to deaths and whatnot? So in a reasonably fair election a Morty might win, if all the Mortys vote for the Morty candidate and all the Ricks split their votes between 5 Ricks. except it wouldn't be fair, of course. ...oh so... this is where the Mortys who had their Ricks killed in Close Rick-counters went? So how are there Ricks satisfied doing grunt factory work? Why wouldn't they just go back to their home planets, or, assuming the Federation heat was on them, some other universe? They're Ricks. Oh. i... this won't last. He'll die, or lose. but. wait, they don't have portal guns? is he Evil Morty? AND THAT'S HIS MUSIC yep. well. darkest year of adventures, huh.
Spoiler: the ricklantis mixup Okay, this might be weird, but the entire concept of Simple Rick was what made me the most emotional. Even if that specific iteration of Rick didn't actually choose to devote his life to his daughter, there's a version who DID, I'm positive of that--infinite timelines, after all. And not only does this seem to lead to a FAR happier and more genuinely fulfilled Rick, but I'd think it'd lead to a better-off Beth as well. And what's really heartbreaking there is that a happy, well-adjusted Beth would likely mean that in that reality, Summer and Morty probably wouldn't exist.
Spoiler: ricklantis mixup that was a good episode, i really liked it! so, clearly there was a racial metaphor there. that much was very obvious. also the reveal at the end of Evil Morty was great. (And his music is great, btw. (it's here for people looking for it)) i think that this is not only one of the best episodes from this season, but among the best episodes of Rick and Morty. That might also be just the post-episode "well that was nice" and later i'll think it wasn't but i thought it was great!
Y'all...I depression-binged this entire show last weekend, just in time to watch the newest episode as it aired, and Holy Shit. Spoiler: Spoilers for The Ricklantis Mixup, and like, Various Parts of the Show Before That I'm still kind of struggling with the concept of infinite Ricks/Morties and infinite timeline-hopping and like...keeping track of Ricks in general*...so I'm thinking I might need to rewatch some episodes, probably. Since all of those things are like, immediately relevant to the show's current antagonist... Like, I still don't know whether "C-137 Morty" refers to "the Morty who is the main character of the show" or "the Morty native to the timeline that the Rick who is the main character of the show originally came from"... Or whether Bird/Phoenixperson is from MC-Rick's original timeline or MC-Morty's original timeline or some other timeline altogether... Or if any characters in the series BESIDES Ricks/Morties are originally from a different timeline than the Main Show One... OR WHERE IN THE TIME-LANDSCAPE THE CITADEL BELONGS... ...Like, MC-Rick is definitely from a different timeline originally than MC-Morty, right? Because MC-Morty's Rick vanished for 20 years and MC-Rick has memories of a toddler Morty? Or is that a bad assumption I'm making?? In any case, when people say/theorize "Candidate/President Morty is C-137 Morty", they mean "the Morty from MC-Rick's original timeline", not like, MC-Morty, right? Fuck. *Possibly not the best show choice for depression-binging?? Either that or I'm just always bad at thinking. ...ANYWAY, I'm looking forward to next week's episode, even if it Is meant as a filler-episode-type thing. Like, it's not that I hated the Interdimensional Cable episodes, but "Morty's Mind Blowers" sounds like a fun premise, and more likely to deliver Fun New Tidbits of Characterization.
Spoiler ok so i could be wrong on this but here's my understanding: -main character rick and morty are rick and morty C-137. -they are from the same timeline as each other, but their home timeline is the Cronenberg Apocalypse timeline. they switched to the current timeline after their home timeline went full apocalypse. this means that they are not from the same timeline as the current summer, jerry, and beth. -not sure about bird-person, i just assumed he did not do any particular timeline-hopping? -the citadel.... uh, i dunno. i kind of assumed it was just like, an interdimensional hub. -i'm not sure what you're referring to when you say rick has memories of toddler morty? so maybe i'm the one who needs to rewatch episodes, haha. but i think that even if rick fucked off for a bunch of years, he could have easily portalled home to check up on his family, even if only for a few hrs or minutes -unless i'm completely wrong on this, "C-137 Morty" is used to refer to MC Morty. i haven't read any of those theories about him being candidate president morty tho, i thought that was pretty clearly evil morty
Spoiler The universe that Rick and Morty currently exist in is apparently one almost completely identical to C-137, their original universe - the only difference is that that universe's Rick managed to figure out how to un-Cronengberg people, and then he and Morty died. Everything else is apparently precisely the same, so arguably there's no difference between the Bird-Persons. Rick does have memories of Morty as a toddler! They are visible when Evil Rick is doing his villain speech in Close Rick-counters. Bird-Person also has a picture of Rick with what appears to be a baby Morty.
Spoiler are they being chased by Dream of the Endless? Morty you need to work on your definition of proof. oh my god rick wait is this guy gonna choke to death on the food or be killed by morty or ok but i don't think that was Morty's fault... 'maybe i'd learn from them if i kept them around' good point HOLY SHit BETH well... shit.... and now they have to piece together their memories out of everything they wanted removed... oh my god Summer. and thank goodness Rick actually prepped her on this. wait is beth literally being paid by Rick for this wow she is not being paid enough for this.
I keep watching this over and over, i only recently realized its a rick and morty short. If youre easily skeeved by bees id give it a miss
