also Spoiler "Although the iea of an afterlife populated by hideous demons does yet have to be disproven, i fail to believe that either my cynical unconcious or a malicious cosmos would provide me with you in your current state" translates to "you look like shit but im glad to see you" y/y?
A little more elaboration/speculation on why I am so happy: Spoiler Gil needs Tarvek's corkscrew of a mind right now. He can't trust himself, especially when it comes to Agatha, and he knows it. He doesn't just need Tarvek's expertise on the wasp eaters and the Other's mind control. He needs Tarvek to be clever enough to figure out exactly what's happened to him and work against not just him, but his father, possibly right under Gil's nose. He is banking on Tarvek being the "untrustworthy snake" that he's called him so many times, because he trusts Tarvek to oppose him but not destroy him. I may die of happiness if it plays out that way.
same, but i have a visceral hatred of the french language, so i'd probably opt for the library in castle heterodyne instead, focus on belle literature (or porn) what'd be your area?
Spoiler: recent updates man. thats gonna be an interesting family reunion with the party. especially if gil brings tarvek. -chinhands-
oooooh my gods ive got a thing for loyalty, mechanicsburg's loyalty to their heterodynes is downright chilling and amazing, and agatha is returning the favour and being like "yall are mine" and <3 best heterodyne or best heterodyne
Back to yell about Vole again because I Want To Do A Science Spoiler: sept 2 page, rambly theorizing Given all the Jägergenerals we've seen seem to be built on the same scale (except, maybe, Gkika-- have we seen her next to any of the other Generals?)-- is the embiggening growth spurt shown during Vole's extraction something that would naturally happen over time as Vole grew mentally/skillswise into the General rank? Do jägers naturally grow over time like lobsters and those who survive the longest (and thus become the largest-- and, theoretically, smartest, hardiest, most experienced...) just get made Generals as they show they're acceptable for the post? Or are those who get promoted to General altered, somehow? ...is "General" some sort of... I hesitate to say 'subspecies' but I'm not finding the word... category of jäger that happens to be outwardly displayed by an extra "growth spurt", triggered by time or stress or whatever, rather than a military ranking? (Well. Considering the jägers were originally an army/shock troop group, I could definitely see the categories being named after ranks...) And if any or all of the above is true, why is Dimo still smol? come on Foglios release a Heterodyne Notebook or smth I wanna know jäger science
I personally theorize that Gkika is just a bit younger than the other generals, so also slightly smaller (Though Zog is also not that big) I think jägers just grow over time, and become less and less human.
and with dimo, it was also a question of need - they needed a general, and dimo was the best choice because he had some measure of guile and tactics beyond "hit it until it ded" the generals seem to be overall a bit calmer than the other jägers, although they can be as rambuctous as any of them.
