Kathy, if you want, and if it's OK with you, I could take over the thread, since I downloaded the demo too and was gonna play it anyway.

 

The only reason I didn't think I'd continue was if this was the kind of thing that would decidedly Not Help right now. If you guys want I can keep it up, if it'll bring some amusement? Probably not tonight, because my head is killing me.

Hello everyone! I'm one of the developers of the game. I just wanted to thank you all so much for putting this thread together and having fun with the demo. Our team has had a blast reading all your responses, and we are so happy that you appreciate the humor and references to real political events.

I will try not to post spoilers, but since people asked, it IS possible to interact with every main character in the demo (as well as a few surprise characters in secret endings), but based on your current choices, you won't be seeing one of them on this route. If anyone has any other questions about Grand Old Academy, please let me know.

I may be being oversensitive, but I'm kind of not cool with my words being put somewhere else with a wider audience without my knowledge, though. I know that this is a forum without joining barriers and this particular part is public, but it's pinging me funny. I would have been happy to send the ask myself, or would have been cool with it if I was told.

 

That's a fair request, to ping us here before sending verbatim questions to the blog. I'll +1 that --- though I don't mind my comments being asked.

edit to add: And I do mean verbatim. If the question had been paraphrased, it wouldn't have been the thing said here.

 

Would you like me to edit and/or remove the post? Some players were confused by the Japanese influences in Grand Old Academy, and I thought your comment was a perfect explanation of what we were going for. It was also a great way to showcase the hidden symbolism in our logo.

I kept it anonymous because I was trying to respect your privacy.

We've been working with youtubers and bloggers who really want their voices heard, so I guess I got carried away. I'm sorry it made you feel funny. I understand your reaction. I've been going through the same thing with people sharing my stuff without my knowledge. My projects have gone viral a few times... and every time, trolls look into my internet history. They share pictures of me, say insulting comments about me, and I've even received a few death threats.

Just know that in this case, the intent wasn't malicious, and I'm happy to update the tumblr post.

 

@Justin I appreciate the response - I didn't address you directly in my original post because I didn't know whether it was you or someone else who reposted my comment, and a lot of the weird feeling has been helped by knowing for sure who, exactly posted it. I'm fine with the post as it is - it's out there now and I don't want to confuse anyone with deletions or the like since it already has several notes. In the future, if you'd like to repost something I wrote, would you mind @-ing me here just so I know? In general, I don't mind anything I say being connected to tumblr - I have the same name here and there - I just like to know who's doing it.

 

You sure? The existing notes don't bother me. I just want you to feel good about it.
