Might help fix a few things with Stan? *shrug* You know I'm always gonna see the best possibilities when it comes to my little problematic husbando.
But at the same time, Mabel had no idea what the Rift was. IIRC, she basically thought it was a weird sciencey snowglobe type thing. And Mabel is incredibly trusting - probably there's no one Bill could have picked as a better puppet than Blendin, considering that Mabel would already think he was being nice to her because the twins had been nice to him before. Or something like that.
My guess is Ford is going to see the parallels with the perpetual motion machine, but forgive Mabel because he'll realize that he created the scenario by trying to pull the twins apart and not telling Mabel about the rift. Also because it was Bill and he did trick her and Ford has already shown he doesn't hold that against people, in fact it reminds him of himself. Couple that with the fact that Ford couldn't beat Bill, and that Dipper couldn't beat Bill without Mabel, and we get a stew that hopefully will make Bill realize that the twins still need each other and do work better together and that he shouldn't push Dipper to split from Mabel, maybe in a few years they'll need to, but not yet. Or at least that would be my guess as to how it'll go.
New episode promos! Spoiler: this spoiler box is the most diabolical trap I've ever created! (will share better video when it becomes available; Mystery of GF should have it soon)
I'm so fucking excited you guys I want to watch Mabel use her imagination to beat Bill into the goddamn ground, because you have to grow up but you don't have to grow out of pretending and yeah okay I'm getting a little emotional over here
I was speaking more in terms of her experiencing so much absolute power and pleasure that Mabel would be absolutely beyond stubborn to ever want to leave. I kinda wonder, then, just how she'd be convinced otherwise. Unless it isn't Mabel at all and Mabel is in another bubble in Bill's pyramid or something. Bill did say the bubble Dipper, Soos and Wendy went into was a giant trap, and said trap could be that and possibly more.
Sort of related - I love Mabel to pieces but she's not a natural voice for me. Are you sure you don't want to play in the soon to be renamed (I hope) shit post thread? I never intended to run the whole clan, we just kept getting into situations they had to be present for, so if you wanted to run her I wouldn't say no.
I had the same thought. I find it interesting that she's wearing her shooting star sweater in the trailer. That's not the sweater she was wearing when she was captured. That could mean any number of things; maybe they're inside her mind and she's imagining herself in that sweater, maybe she (or Bill) conjured a change of clothes during the three days she's been in there... or maybe that's not the real Mabel, just Bill's representation of her, complete with her symbol.
Spoiler: rewatch thoughts: episode one of season one rewatching episode one of season one, i'm downright surprised by how many parallels i can already see with season two, and between the mystery twins and the stans' relationship. dipper saying word-for-word that norman is "not what he seems," the way mabel is trusting towards the guy that's "not what he seems," how dipper giving those warnings that mabel initially dismisses reminds me of ford trying to convince stan that he needs to hide the journals, how mabel telling dipper not to ruin her thing with norman reminds me of how ford was to stan about his college opportunities, how dipper feels like he's not/is not taken seriously is like how stan was treated by his parents, how the way their parents dismissively sent them to gravity falls just reminds me of the stans' parents' attitude towards them... on a non-parallels note, dipper was right on the money with his guess about the author. like, that was impressive! and this is when he gets his iconic hat, after he goes through his first adventure. and all those hints at bill... and stan going into the basement at the end... just yeah... i can see so many things being set up here. more than i ever realized there were. the episode also puts a lot of effort in foreshadowing and setting up its own plot and the twist about norman. like, there were lots of things that, watching for the episode for the second time, i saw and was like, "oooh, i know how that'll be important later on." like the leaf blower...
I have Disney XD as background noise right now because I just caught the tail end of a new trailer for the next ep narrated by FIDDLEFORD and I want to see it again. He's playing checkers with himself in a bunker.
It doesn't appear to be up yet, but this youtube channel will probably have that trailer eventually. There have been a couple of others with Puppet!Fiddleford hanging out in the bunker.
Actually it looks like it's already on there, I just hadn't seen it before. I'm amused that Bill is still carrying Ford around. And maybe also relieved.
Spoiler: Another trailer for Weirdmageddon pt. 2! When the title was first announced, I wasn't sure how to spell "Weirdmageddon" because I didn't know how to spell "armageddon". I looked it up. Now whenever I type Weirdmageddon the spellcheck puts a red line under it and I get confused like "isn't it one G and two D's?" before I remember that Weirdmageddon is not a word.
