Harvest Moon, Story of Seasons, and other similar games!

I wore the beret for the longest time to get extra friendliness from a lot of townsfolk (so many people love it! But it was mostly for Marian and Giorgio, who were two of the speaking guests at the wedding)

Reviving this because I finally got to order this today, and now I'm super hyped and impatient for it to arrive. gonna romance the hell outta Licorice (or maybe Iris, but probably Licorice.)

through the magic of absurdly fast shipping, SoS has been achieved! initial reactions:

-god damn this shit is cute
-I keep getting fucking lost
-I really appreciate all of the hairstyles being available, my farmer started off with blue hair and now has a pink ponytail
-I'm not sure what the point of bug-catching is, but it's amusing to think that I just run around with bees in my backpack

and now my eyes hurt from staring at the screen

 

also, apparently my farmer had no problems dragging an entire octopus out of the river with just their bare hands o_o

 

What gets me is that there are octopi and squid in a river.

 

you can sell the bugs! that and diving stuff is basically your basic start-up-foraging-money-source and the bees you can put into the beekeeping boxes on the honey field once you win that one in a conquest!

 

I've tried selling the bugs, but they don't make a very good profit? beekeeping would be neat though

 

It's baby's first income. Basically it helps the startup .Once you get going it's also good for gifts for some people,esp. Butterflies!

 

re: bug catching there's also achievements to get. :3 Because they don't make a ton of money, but there are more each season and each year, it's an extra thing to do if you're in a super productive slump with progression to keep a challenge in it.

also yay! MORE PEOPLE JOINING THE CLUB OF "I AM SMOL, PRECIOUS, AND WILL LIFT A HOUSE OVER MY FUCKING HEAD IF I SO CHOOSE." club. Time to get you on your way to lifting a spouse and two kiddos over your head too.

 

yeah they aren't big cash makers, but it's more of a start up help.

Also completely apart from that I sketched Junior wearing all the outfits that raeger likes and their reaction to them.
There are a LOT of "boy" clothes in that list lol

It appears to be a plan to celebrate the 20th anniversary of the Harvest Moon thing. The game is to be called: Story of Seasons: Good Friends of Three Villages. It's 80% done and releases in Japan summer this year, but no dates otherwise are mentioned. It is for 3ds.



You live in the center of three villages: a western themed country town, an asian themed town, and as island themed town with a more ethnic flavor than just American West and Totally Not Japan Hybrid You Guis. They're named: Lulucoco Town, Tsuyukusa Village, and Wes Town. There seem to be more mechanics that prove useful with farming, including the placement of buildings affecting your crops instead of the fairly hard to pick up on notion of "IF YOU HAVE X# OF COLORED THINGS ON YOUR FARM THEY'LL AFFECT Y CROP!!" of SoS.

It's also sold me on this: You can choose your favorite pet and have them live with you in you home as your “Soul Mate.” You can take your pet to the villages and even have them participate in festival events.

Like SoS it seems you can choose your hair color, facial expression, etc. But there is an addition of choosing what you're good at. This will potentially have some more issues when choosing what to do as a character because MAKING A CHARACTER IS ALREADY HARD WORK MAN, NOW I GOTTA KNOW TALENTS AHEAD OF TIME..

• You can choose your own gender, hair color, facial expression, and so on for your avatar in this game. Your lifestyle will change a bit based on the “Type” that you choose (what you’re good at).
