i made another attempt at animating for warmup today! originally i wanted a cool spinning kick, but maybe i'll finish and polish it sometime else...

Kicking Little Guy Roughs are done finally! i managed to squeezed in a landing in the 24 frames that the affordable version of csp allows me to use, but it forced me to attempt using smears during the second spin so that's a good learning experience right there!

I bet Whirl makes his holoavatar spin around sometimes for fun so he can pretend to be dizzy and crash into people/everything else. He’s tried it in robot form a few times but people just assume he’s got a busted stabilizer or something, which is less satisfying. On one hand, more screaming, but on the other, more complaints, infrastructure repair bills, and medics poking at bent rotor blades. People are far less charmed by an out of control spinning death copter than a spinning little human girl for some reason. Life isn’t fair.

tried to incorporate at leas 50% of My Own Face (tm) in the new one. still need to work on eyes, tho...eyes and chins and ears and hair and and and....

 

WELCOME TO THE BOY COMPILATION, today i peddle some more fine metal friends who would probably murder you, accidentally or not!

first up: An Screm, originally for @Codeless here and then i went "yooo. i'm gonna slap colors on." and then the lines were too fuzzy for me to do a proper color hold, so it's mostly just black ones.



secondly, SPACE GAYS, GAYS IN SPACE, those gay fuckin robot grandpas are my favorite tragic-ironic-dorkus-love background noise in Robot Comics. these assholes will be the death of me.



this dude. this metallic dingus. this large mechanoid, who is tragically relatable to me. those are his murder colors. it's just a quick doodling, but colors took more time as usual, gotta say i'm pleased with my newfound ability to mcfucking stick to mostly celshading because It Doesn't Need Rendering Time!!


and lastly some bastardized cousin of concept art. more robot humanization! no more cat ears for drift, and much thinking about textures (it's a WIP and supposed to be the first in a series of those because [clenches fist] VISDEVVVVVV)
that's been most of the more worthwhile art things. enjoy the roboavalanche, i'm not getting off this road anytime soon

 

so i haven't painted in a really long time, and while i'm still completely unable to keep the proportions of the sketch accurate, i'm really proud of this thing because yay, i managed to incorporate actual edges and distinct hue shifting into skin of all things!
semi decent contrast! in a thing i made! me grimlock haaaappy. (still to cowardly to make drastic still space vs. loads-of-texture a thing which bugs me because that's gotta me my favorite type of achieving visual stimulus in an art. back to practicing!!)

 

so, guess who started painting again. with acrylics. go me, using all the school supplies i thought would get no use anymore.
above's the sketch for it! i have no damn idea what it's supposed to be, but sure looks like cool shit and maybe an album cover....

safe to say i'm proud of myself on account that it's just me doing key poses without looking into How To Timing, ever. (the finished thing is gonna be longer, the cutoff is due to clip studio only allowing me a set number of frames - the final product will be two spliced together shots of human optimus prime being very surprised and charging into battle!)

i love lowpoly 3D stuff with painty textures with all my slimy heart, and i think i can actually do that myself now?! ...totally didn't spend the last few days zooming through all sorts of blender manuals and tutorials, nooooo, i am totally not fixating on this COOL NEW THING that is REALLY GOOD TO DO!!
