Whoops just saw these posts, hi guys! Backward in the lexical sense. It's a play on my irl name which contains "lee". However, making America eel sounds like an excellent idea, let's get on turning everyone into clones of me, that will probably turn out great!* *it would probably not be great, also I like other people who are not me
Fuck I love Assassin's Creed. Brotherhood and Revelations aren't backwards compatible on XBox One yet though which makes me a sad pup cause those two were my favorites. (Or was it two and brotherhood? idk but I'm really gay for Ezio). ...I also love portal and zelda too. You and I are gonna get along lmao. Welcome to the forums!
Brotherhood and Revelations are the bomb. I just started playing Assassin's Creed II again because I want to play Brotherhood and Revelations again and you gotta play the first part of the trilogy first, that's why it's the first one. Also that way the first scene of Brotherhood hits even harder 8O According to my brother IV is pretty good, and one of the things you collect is songs for your pirate crew to sing, which is hilarious, so maybe after I'm done with Revelations again I'll try it out. Or maybe I'll replay Portal. Hmmm, decisions. (I've never played Liberation, either, which is also supposed to be good and which I already have on Steam.)
I have yet to play any of the games past Revelations even though Desmond's cliffhanger in Revelations had me on edge for the longest time. Idk why exactly, but I have a weird way of getting too attached to player characters and am very hesitant to play anybody else if I've played one for three straight games. But maybe I'll try out three if I can find it for rent or find a friend who owns it...
I love Ezio but I was ready to move on by the time Revelations was over, haha. I left him to a happy poly relationship with Sofia and Leonardo ;) Connor/Ratonhnhaké:ton (your player character in AssCreed III) is a cutie but the game itself is. Eh. It's not unplayable, although I stopped playing it like. Halfway through? Shortly after you move on to New York from Boston. I found the controls difficult and the gameplay itself tedious, plus the story wasn't as interesting to me as the previous games' had been. I also had a lot of glitches, mostly sound and cutscene stuff but sometimes I'd get stuck somewhere and have to restart, although playing on a console would probably (not entirely sure, I haven't played games on a console in several years) avoid those. I did like the side missions where you build up your homestead. You basically rescue a bunch of ragtag frontierspeople and have them set up their various shops on your land and then proceed to help them with their love lives, it's cute. And the Desmond side of things is a lot more interesting in III, you explore the place your team is camped out and activate tech the [spoilers] left behind, and go on a few missions to steal stuff from Templars. Unfortunately the points in Connor's timeline where you unlock stuff to do as Desmond are few and far between, I only got to do one mission as Desmond before I quit. AC III is pretty universally agreed to be the worst of the bunch so if you're not sure and have limited time/money/spoons I'd skip straight to a later game; I'm planning to play IV before I get back to III, if I ever do. Edit to avoid double post: Just remembered that liking posts is a thing and liked everyone's replies. Sorry for the inbox spam and thanks for coming by to chat <3
Do you play with a mouse and keyboard or a gamepad? Cause I know console games that have been ported to PC have wonky or unusable controls (see: Dark Souls). Though that doesn't help with glitches, unfortunately. That seems like a good idea. If nothing else I can just read the wiki for the story I missed haha. I heard Syndicate was good. Might just skip straight to that one haha.
I use a gamepad. Usually I configure the controls so I don't have to use the trigger buttons, but AC III wouldn't let me change the gamepad settings away from default >:( so I had to suffer through the recurring minigame where you have to mash the right trigger button. And yeah, if I end up quitting III again the next time I try I'm just gonna look up a good Let's Play of it.
That is... lame. I've never messed with console/gamepad controls aside from in games that were made for mouse and keyboard first haha. But yeah if you're not a fan of triggers that can be a bitch to get through.
