...I figured out they meant the band name and then looked said band name up. I´dassumed they´d been expecting me to have remembered it from seeing it on Xefros´poster.
yeah, I can’t remember exactly but I’m pretty sure it was something similar with me. Except it didn’t occur to me to look it up. And I didn’t realize you could call xefros for help there either >_<
meanwhile, I just have a real hard time identifying symbols, so even when I had the symbols I needed RIGHT THERE, I could not fucking get the thing right for ages.
Was it ever confirmed that ancestors and descendants had to have the same second name? Because I have my suspicions about Xultan Matzos. Also Nikhee's voice in my head is now the rapping operatic soprano in "The Most Unwanted Song". The lyrics in that sound pretty much like Alternian slam poetry anyway.
I hate the snake game so fucking much. Having the note on the edge helps some but it´s still a huge pain in the ass and i want to skip it
Anyone have headcanon ages for the Troll Call cast? Chahut's canonically about to be conscripted so she's basically an adult, and I think Zebede, Diemen, Tirona, and possibly Boldir are pre-teens.
After my earlier post about Nikhee's voice being The Most Unwanted Song, I'm now stuck with the mental image of Dammek yelling random political jargon while the little ones from the Troll Call loudly exhort the listener to do all their shopping at Troll-Mart.
Dunno if it’s been noted yet, but as long as there’s no more doubles like Folykl and Kuprum, and a week isn’t skipped for some other reason, we’ve got 7 weeks of Troll Call left. That brings us to March 14th, which is reversed 413
Spoiler: gender on alternia ramblings - dark While I doubt it's going to be gone into in the game, I'm worried for the NB trolls. They're living on a planet where a) anything considered unusual can get you killed, b) there is still a pretty strict gender binary whatever's going on in the trolls' pants (at least once a troll corrected a human who got their gender wrong, all the girls but Terezi and Nepeta express obvious feminine cues, and Karkat tells Tavros to "STOP PLAYING GAMES FOR GIRLS", whatever that means to trolls) and c) the government is secretly run by a being of god-like power who based his entire self-image on a strict gender binary, and while it wasn't confirmed onscreen it is claimed that he enforced the "purple-down patriarchy"... It honestly wouldn't make a lot of sense to me for nonstandard gender identities to NOT be a big deal on Alternia and that could potentially make for a bad combo. (No issue being made of them on Beforus, now, that works. Beforus is scary but I can see that particular thing being cool.)
mmmmm I don't think that's the case? I mean for one thing, I really doubt Alternia is 'ANYTHING unusual can get you killed.' The cullings happen for a) things that'd get in the way of your service to the glorious war machine, and b) mutations that specifically break the hemospectrum, that thing that the entire culture is built on. Gender isn't either of those. Also, I don't think there's a strict gender binary for trolls? I mean, one, you don't need to have a strict gender binary to correct someone on who you are, and I don't think there's much to go on for 'obvious feminine cues' for the others. Fashion isn't a Girl Thing on Alternia, near as I can tell, and there are clearly male trolls with long hair. Further, the 'purple-down patriarchy' was a thing on Beforus. I just don't see why the trolls couldn't have a widely-accepted idea of 'gender is a spectrum and people are what they say they are' and ALSO have stereotypes about what the sort of people who go by 'she' or 'they' or 'he' or whatever like.
Male trolls with long hair, yeah, but are there any wearing skirts, brightly coloured mascara, and lipstick? Vriska wears boy clothes but still wears makeup. None of the boy trolls wear skirts or kilts. On this side of the fourth wall it's so they can be easily identified as a boy or a girl in the sprite style, but within 'verse? And Tavros gets mocked for playing "games for girls" - on multiple occasions, as I recall. Maybe. Gotta say I still kind of like the idea of NB troll kids joining the rebellion to stand up for their genders, but yeah... Considering how horrible Alternia is about literally everything else, I'm really not seeing a reason why they would be fine with this. On the other hand, I do tell off fans for falling into the Darth Vader the Eldritch Abomination trap with characters, so am I just putting more bad traits in without logic?
