well it WOULD possibly explain why jade trolls seem to be different from all others with the ability to go out during the day, and generally seeming more diurnal, and the rainbow drinker thing. There is a distinct possibility that jade trolls have genetically isolated themselves enough that they are essentially breeding out traits different from the majority troll population, possibly because of seperatist political/social movements. ... given the fact that they have access to the breeding caverns they can probably manage to keep jade-on-jade slurry seperated out too by just feeding it to a seperate mothergrub instead of the main one, so even if the genetic recombination takes place within the mothergrub and not within the pail, they could essentially keep it apart from the main gene pool.
