Romani Vantases seem like the best human analogue to me: Signless was a traveller, they’re persecuted unfairly for their blood literally or metaphorically, and it works with Karkat’s hemoanonymous status because it wouldn’t be immediately obvious to most people what his heritage specifically was, even if it was obvious he wasn’t white. Jewish Vantases work similarly without the traveller symbolism and I like them too.
