I love her so much even though her stupid AI ended up eternally making the guards of some city pissed off at me. Basically I got caught while feeding or accidentally hit someone or something. And then Serana was like OH HELL NO and began tossing ice at everyone. I tried to reason with the guards but they would not be reasoned with and Serana hates talking things out.

God dammit Serana.

out of curiosity: what is your default play style? what sort of dragonborn do you play if you don't have a specific plan for the character, or what kind of character do you naturally end up playing regardless of your intentions ?

example: no matter how i start my game, or what sort of combat style i want a particular character to have, i will inevitably end up with a stealth archer. (this is due in no small part to the fact that im a fuckin baby, and i hate being startled. sneaking lets me be In Control (⋈ò◡ó))

it is the Most Important Skill!! also alchemy. alchemy is also the Most Important Skill. it is through alchemy that you achieve Greatness

 

I alchemy like crazy for money, sneak constantly, and take whatever is not nailed down everywhere I go, whether it be theft or not. 8U Oh god, and lockpicking.

When I played Morrowind I took Nate's advice and JUMPED everywhere. It was such a pain in the dick but guess who maxed their acrobatic skill hella early.

 

I've never played morrowind but i am ADHD As Heck so i Jump Everywhere without prompting

skill-wise i level up all the crafting skills as fast as i can!! also for Speed-Leveling i highly recommend getting 100 illusion, getting the master level spells, then making illusion legendary, then standing in the middle of whiterun/solitude with magicka-cost cancelling gear and just. lettin er have it

HARMONY FOR EVERYONE!!! and then repeat ad infinitum. now u have a bunch of perks to use as you please

 

I also default to stealth archer! I get more glee than is entirely healthy from a challenging long-distance sniper shot.

In Skyrim, I developed a secondary favorite- caster w/destruction in one hand and restoration in the other.

 

i just barge up to people and whack them with a mace or sword or ax. I'm not crazy about two handed weapons, but i have one character who stubbornly fights in a dress and her sword is almost as big as she is and it amuses me greatly.

i generally carry around a bow and arrows even though i am very bad at using them...i've been dabbling in enchantments, and i don't like alchemy a lot but I'm trying to get more into it. oh, and i like carrying a shield even though i hardly remember to block ever.

 

oh man enchanting and alchemy and smithing 3× combo means that my strongest dragonborn, level 118, does 1900 damage per shot (3× if stealthed), has an armour rating of 3000, and can cancel out 100% of magic damage. alchemy and enchanting feed into each other rly nicely -- you enchant gear to fortify your alchemy, make fortify enchanting potions, enchant gear with STRONGER fortify alchemy, rinse, repeat.

i'm a collector and reputation-completionest. i need everyone to adore me, i need to own every house, i need to have all the upgrades for every faction, i need to have the Best armour and weapons, i need to have multiple copies of every book, i need to have matched sets of skill-specific enchanted equipment, i need to have every unique armour set, every unique weapon, BLAH BLAH BLAH

Having read through some of the more obscure lore, this is only slightly ridiculous

 

So in about an hour and a half there is going to be a large TES block in SGDQ. Arena, Daggerfall, Morrowind, and Skyrim are all going to be run. Skyrim is getting a glitch exhibition. All the runs are going to be any% save one so expect some crazy shit occurring. Morrowind is going to be an all main quests. After that Bethesda fans get Fallout 3 and 4 runs!

So if any of you are interested it should start at like 4 PM PST at gamesdonequick.com or at GDQ's twitch. I'd show up like 20 minutes earlier though just to be sure.

So because I couldn't get Oblivion working no matter what I fucking did to it I gave up and decided to try Morrowind again. It's still incredibly fucking dated and I wish to god I could fast travel at times because I just really don't feel like walking my ass over to Hla Oad again but it is amusing now that I have actually spent time with it. A lot of it is that I just really like the setting. I think they Dunmer are neat in general. They've got some of the cooler lore, and Morrowind is just Dunmer the game. It's also a very religion centric game, which does a lot for me. Religion is just one of my big interests in general and in this series it is my favoritest thing.

This leaves Oblivion as the sole one of the recent Elder Scrolls games that I just don't care for. Because Cyrodiil is just.

Dull.

There are quests I like in it, but I cannot fucking stand Cyrodiil.

 

Also this game is going to give me carpal tunnel I swear to god. And all the weird claw motions I have to make to run and sneak and such. I honestly just set a bottle of nail polish down to hold down the fucking ctrl key.

i mean objectively speaking ebony is very pretty, but daedric stuff is super cool looking and. IT'S MADE WITH HEARTS

 

I'm most fond of the various chitin based armors from Morrowind. I also really like their glass stuff.

In terms of silly things, dwarven armor is great because most of it is clunky bullshit made out of a bunch of mismatched pieces all melted down into one hideous mass of mystery metal. Which is just beautiful. You have these people running around in their totes genuine the guy who sold it to me said he found it in a dwemer ruin armor and it's just a bunch of plates and shit someone beat into armor that vaguely looks like the things you see in their ruins.
