I feel you on that last thing. like excuse me. excuse you. I am an Important Citizen. I will kill whoever I want, dammit. also since I stopped needing gold and jewels I stopped stealing them :P I can never find people to sell them to and then I'm just clanking with weight and it's ANNOYING like how the heckie am I supposed to carry around all my weapons and potions like that?? and also I mostly pick my alchemy ingredients. a few are stolen, but nothing that I wouldn't mind losing.
YES!!! i am a book collector in the Extreme, i need to have Everything, i have a chest with one (1) copy of every book i've ever found, and then all my shelves are arranged for Aesthetics, and then there's the skill book collection, and the journal collection, and the spell book collection, and the notes/recipes/maps collection.... also @chaoticArbiter you, my friend, need the weightless items mod!!! ingots, potions, hides, leather, ore, ingredients, soul gems, jewels, food, scrolls, dragon bones/scales, all that fun stuff, all weightless!!! it is my favourite mod (also i collect alchemy ingredients as a matter of course.... if i see 'em, i want 'em >:))
:o weightless items?? NEED. now I can carry EVERYTHING EVER I have so many soul gems.... also I'm going to go and stick up the library in the mage college and steal all their books (jk but I am going to steal all their books and I wish sticking a place up was a mechanic in the game)
AAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAA I mean dunmeri culture was an amazing bag of dicks but I loved them all anyway. And just. Morrowind. It was so soggy and beautiful or desert-dry and beautiful or on FIRE and beautiful. They've got to give us a big status update on how the dunmer are doing in ESVI. I don't know what time period it'll be set in, I mean it has to be far enough out that the result of player action during the Skyrim civil war is moot, unless more dragon break weirdness happens again. But. Just let me know they're okay, Bethesda. Please. I've got a couple of mod houses for item collecting: the Druid's Den house has a library for shelf space and a good vault for displaying all the non-modded armor and weapons in the game, and Aemer's Refuge has a nice hall of display dummies for armor and weapons, plus a system that allows you to just activate a rune and it'll magically suck duplicates of items you've already stored in its chest system out of your inventory, and sorts them into the proper chests, some of which are scripted to allow you to use their contents while forging or enchanting and all that. Both mods also have special displays for Big Special Items like the dragon priest masks or daedric artifacts.
I mean they were kind of slowly picking up the pieces. Even repairing the damage done to their religion by the Nerevarine (which was a necessary damage I feel). Neloth get your stupid ass back there and fix things with your research. Or something! ;-;
I played a lot of Skyrim a few years ago, and then got a better computer and started modding my game, and now I'm gonna spend another 500+ hours in it. Somehow, I've still never finished the main quest. I have Oblivion on PS3 but I still can't find the motivation to finish it, or even really start it.
Who else is going to get back into a really bad habit of playing for 15 hours a day now that the special edition is here? Did anyone get the free upgrade via steam? Would you rather wait for essential mods like SKSE and SkyUI to be optimized for the new game before you play? And last but not least, do you guys think ENB's will be as popular now that the graphics have been greatly improved?
I have all expansions, but no free upgrade :c (How Dare I not get free stuff :P) I have been playing more recently tho cos eso's started overheating my desktop into shutdown again. This playthrough's challenge is No Sneaking and I am in pain. still archering, because fuck having to charge in, but no stealth for me. Riften's gonna be {fuuuun}. might turn into the first game I actually get through the entire ridiculous companions plot tho!
I think they may still be pushing out the upgrade, unless you needed the legendary edition for it to count? Hope you get it though! I have no idea what I wanna do this playthrough, but I tend to be a goody two shoes every time, so maybe I'll say fuck it and kill everybody, see how much I level up with that strategy.
christ. i'm just trying to mod skyrim LE, not skyrim SE, because i had to update my graphics card to get skyrim SE to work and now it's giving me lovely patchy white-ish shit all over mostly people. and i've been trying for i think three days to get a modded skyrim LE save file past riverwood because either it will crash on approaching riverwood after helgen, or it will crash on approaching the bridge next to honningbrew meadery. and nexus is down. like, offline, like, can't download anything, because all the modders are testing if their mods work with 64-bit skyrim SE instead of just 32-bit skyrim LE and then porting them to the shiny new skyrim SE part of the site. i just want to mod literally any other tes game. i still haven't finished modding morrowind and i haven't touched oblivion, and morrowind is probably going to be a problem because the site i was using as reference now has outdated links for the graphics mods i was using. it's looking like i'll need to go through the files on the dell laptop from 2011 that pretty much wheezes in despair every time i try to boot it now, and somehow grab my mod setup list from there, i think, because otherwise i have no idea how to find the .zip files. and maybe i can grab my save file while i'm there too. i am hyperfixated on elder scrolls right now, it's a special interest of mine and i physically cannot do the thing even if i sign up for premium on NMM because the site is literally unable to log you in or download even on the premium servers. stop being popular. oh well. i'm just going to make a list of mods i want to download, now that i uninstalled literally everything except for fall of the space core and skse. skyui ccor with all addons, preferably legacy of the dragonborn with all addons, preferably immersive armor/immersive weapons/immersive jewelry quest markers for the stones of barenziah, crimson nirnroot, jiub's opus, and arvak's skull, because fuck that when vampires attack/run for your lives individualized shout cooldowns and realistic humanoid movement speed diamond armor/diamond weapons and warmonger armory unique uniques, rings of morrowind, and ashland amulets complete alchemy and crafting overhaul (unsure about this one, actually, i prefer having my lookup where i can make the most expensive potions ever and really level up my alchemy skill quickly as well as get some quick gold/level up my speech skill, all for free because I Must Pick Every Ingredient, i am that derpy last dragonborn who stops to catch butterflies) jaxons apocalypse and maybe immersive college of winterhold clams drop pearls, unique booze bottles, and radiant and unique potions and poisons atlas and detailed mine markers cutting room floor, thieves' guild former glory restored, better dark brotherhood, and the parthuunax dilemma TES arena moonpath to elsweyr and falskaar undeath, become king of skyrim, moon and star, and helgen reborn any other cool player homes i find that don't overclock my processor any other cool quests i find that don't overclock my processor i have a huge fucking problem with mods, okay, i recognize this, the last few days have been hell
I had about 300 mods active at once on the older version of skyrim so you're good there lmfao. You might have to uninstall SE until the mods you want the most are compatible. You're not the only one to have trouble with the fact that a modded LE being still installed is conflicting with SE when you try to activate or download new mods. I think the two games are trying to share a program file or launch path that's making mods try to port themselves over to SE, when they clearly won't work. As for saves, though, I hate to say it, but you might have to give up on transported any saves from a modded LE to SE and start from scratch on SE. Until whatever mods were active the last time you saved are compatible with SE, you're going to be crashing and burning, unfortunately.
i haven't modded SE at all, and i literally installed skyrim LE (along with oblivion and morrowind) on the desktop on... wednesday night. i literally hadn't started playing before that and i haven't tried porting any saves, vanilla or otherwise--because i didn't have any. also i think part of the problem may be that i don't have a "gaming" pc and that skyrim LE is 32-bit so it self-restricts to only using 4gb of ram even though i have 16, or at least that's my understanding of how LE is balls when it comes to memory leaks. i'm just going to grump and play LE on my xbox360 until nexus is back up. :c
oooh okay i must've read your post wrong. in my experience with mods, some just don't work, period, even if you installed it manually. I'll have 3 activated, and I'll activate a 4th, it'll conflict with one of the other 3, and I'm crashing at start, or the 4th will conflict with my hardware, and once again, I'm crashing. I think mods making the game crash as it does at times has more to do with the fact you have a 64 bit motherboard and the mod may not have been made compatible with that, like the 32 bit version of the game was. That's how I came to understand it, anyway.
i am sort of afraid to run it in compatibility mode, but maybe that would make the 64-bit/32-bit issues change? i also think part of the problem was that i either installed things in the wrong order and accidentally overwrote some scripts or assets or something, LOOT organized them for loading in the wrong order, or i didn't have some prerequisite patch installed. or i know in one case i literally did not follow the installation instructions. @me rtfm ffs
So I'm playing the Special Edition for giggles, and I've finally hit my first Funny Glitch I got to Markarth, ignored the assassination-in-progress, and went to go get food and bed out of the inn because Immersion. Get out of the dialogue tree with the barkeep-- and the dead chick's corpse comes flying through the fucking door to bash against the bar-island-thing. I guess it's triggered to be dead Right Next to the player? but like. Corpse Magnet ftw. To add to the hilarity, I'm a filthy RPer and the character I've expied into TES universe started out as a corpse scavenger. (We are in Markarth because Namira, and also because Labyrinthian Mages' College quest.) eta tangential shitposting When does Eltrys's death technically trigger? If you go on your merry way, is he still murdered in the temple, waiting for a contact who never shows? We can never know, because going to the temple to check will move you along the quest and automatically trigger his death! Schroedinger's NPC
