Windhelm is a shithole, but I do like snow. My elf is an assassin but would be *horrified* at the idea of her beautiful wife and potential children in a home with a used murder closet. Her wife had a close call with some frost spiders and she has been secretly arming her wife to the teeth ever since, and thinks she probably needs to procure an enchanted pickaxe since that's her wife's weapon of choice. I need to get the mod that lets you adopt all the orphans, because I haven't adopted any because I'm so sad that I can't adopt them all.
What a beautiful home! So cozy! So full of life and fambly! And that is indeed one very nice-looking blade over the bed there! Those jars are impossible, you did a great job. It deserves to be upside down for its sins.
your elf sounds much more sensible than rilli, who probably shouldn't actually be a parent. i also console commanded rune and sapphire (and frost, and meeko; not the kids, they're immortal by default) to be essential so they can't die. frost died shortly after i got him and i realised i couldn't deal with that shit so now I don't have to! as a result frost keeps fighting dragons for me. he can take on wolves, spiders and low-level bandits all by himself but i did briefly lose him by fast-travelling while he was still technically 'dead' after trying to take on a spriggan I have the adopt-up-to-six-orphans mod but i haven't actually tried it out on rilli. the mod-maker was like 'if you have an already active game it might not work' and i'm way too afraid of letting down some poor orphan child to try now xP maybe when i move in to the morthal house i'll try. my new boy Caro though, if he actually gets any playtime rather than just existing so i can make up stories about him in my head, will almost certainly adopt many childs. he already has a husband lined up though, he's marrying Balimund. i lov balimund. now i have the polygamy mod though maybe i'll see about hooking him some more husbands on top of that, hmm
skyrim pcs ETA: pressed enter too early, watch this space ETA2: ok fixed Spoiler: screenies Bites-Off-Noses, or Bitsy, who is actually on PS4 hence the shitty photo. Mostly interested in making things, likes to collect ingredients to do so, has a large battleaxe if people get shirty about this. Rilli, thief par excellence, ruled by whim and although she does get scared, does not believe in letting that stop her. Becomes responsible by going so far into irresponsible it circles back around again. Malgrave, actually my first PC but she's had very, very little playtime because the first time i picked up Skyrim I couldn't get a grip on it. A simple soul with a big hammer, who doesn't actually speak the lingua franca very well. She was getting on fine living by herself up in the mountains until this whole... civil war... dragonborn... thing happened to her. Newest fuckbiscuit, Caro, who is a Breton with a lot of elf blood in him and also a slut. Is a magic boy who knows some tricks with a bow and also with his penis. Was actually made twice due to a file saving accident, and the random-start mod was determined to place him in the vicinity of whiterun/riverwood, so i decided he probably actually just lives there at the start of the game.
The frost spiders were not supposed to be there. Her wife is a miner. You were supposed to clear the spiders out of the mine so the miners could get back to work. They were not supposed to repop. But they did repop, during the day when Idi stopped by to visit her lovely wife and dropped in at the mine to say hi. She had to take heroic fall damage to kill all the spiders fast enough to keep everyone alive. From the perspective of the player, it was fucking awesome. Idi was not nearly as enthused as I was. If I the player hadn’t made her go way out of her way to procure a healing spell for horses mostly NPCs, like a laying on of hands sort of thing, one of the men probably would have died of the venom even though she got between him and the spider before it could finish inflicting lethal injury. I’m willing to be a little genre savvy on her behalf with things like that. (Idi is such a terrible mage that she powered her way very neatly through a quest to kill a mana-stealing villain while silently laughing her ass off at his stupidity. “Sure, go ahead and take all 4 of my magic, I’m very much not using it, and I sure hope that’s not your entire stockpile!” She had to go away and come back to pass the Mages’ entrance exam because she didn’t have enough magic to cast one of the basic elemental spells they wanted, iirc, and she honestly hasn’t improved much since then. Also she runs the college now, which is probably a little embarrassing for them, but she’s good at administration and murder. Also theft, but that’s slightly less useful for that specifically.) So yeah, she’s a tad bit paranoid about her wife’s safety. Currently they’re living in Solitude, because ain’t no spiders sneaking into that fortress of a city, but she also feels awful for depriving Sylgja of her career, which she seems quite proud of, her home she owns in her own right, and her miner friends with whom she spends evenings sitting around the fire. So yeah, maybe we’ll try the enchanted pickaxe. (Edit for grammar.)
that is just the cutest story!! that's so cute. best of luck to Idi in keeping her waifu happy while simultaneously avoiding spiders best evidence that thedas and tamriel are on the same planet is that neither of them have any actually sensibly-sized spiders they're all unreasonably gigantic rilli runs the mage's guild too as it happens but in her defence they just kind of plonked that honour on her before she knew what was happening. she mostly leaves actually running it to other people, and just drops in every so often to see if anyone wants her to brave unutterable horrors to retrieve anything cool for them
o shit if i really am going to decoupage that chest of drawers i get to cut up so many magazines. i'm hype now. gonna drag the box of magazines downstairs and cut cut cut
update: box of magazines too heavy to drag downstairs. brought bag of magazines instead. may have accumulated too many magazines. is there such a thing as too many magazines?
there is no such thing as too many magazines. Potentially time to move it in increments, like splitting it between several baskets/bags to take donstairs, since you're prolly gonna sort thrpough it to get material anyways
i'll probably just end up going through the box stuff upstairs instead the only real downside to that is that the wifi up there's kind of shite lmao
every time i see something deriding chihuahuas as hell dogs or demons or whatever i get more and more of an urge to open some kind of chihuahua rescue so that all the poor fucking thing that never got treated like real dogs 'cause they're small can actually be real dogs there are many reasons not to, including my usual energy levels and the fact that I have never actually owned a chihuahua myself, or worked with any problem dogs, but i always feel so fucking bad for them. If people can say pitbulls aren't intrinsically bad, just trained badly, why do they gotta shit on chihuahuas as tiny assholes when it's obvious that, again, most of the issue is bad training?
Yeah like... as far as I've experienced meeting them, they're mostly rather highstrung and high energy dogs who need a lot of work and training or they become complete messes. The whole thing with small dogs is that either they have the self confidence to not realize most things are like double or triple their size, or they're perpetually nervous about being the smallest thing around, and that kind of thing requires solid training to make sure the dog trusts their human? and has a healthy way to communicate distress clearly? and then that obviously means the human has to *read the dog's signals, and help the dog disengage from the distressing situation*. I think the real issue here is that way too many people see small dogs as playthings >:/
honestly i would legitimately like to run or be involved in some kind of animal rescue in future but the only rescue i can get involved in round here is the cat one and as much as i love cats i want to get experience with more kinds of animals also i'm a useless human who can't keep up with too many things at once also i keep finding excuses
noofs wanting to get a broader spectrum of experiences is totally valid, as is not being able to keep up with too many things at the same time
can confirm mod actually works on rilli have now adopted a surprise son, the kid who lives at the Solitude stables honestly i was there on Criminal Enterprises so i suspect it went something like this blaise: [tending to Frost] blaise: [spots Rilli lifting a necklace from Geimund] rilli: [spots blaise spotting her] blaise: ... rilli: ... blaise: what'll you give me to keep my mouth shut rilli: [immediately charmed] parenting
well son boy hasn't made his way back to riften yet but we'll give him a chance before we start fiddling with console commands
son boy is still in solitude but i'm too sleepy and vaguely headachey and hot to prod him back to his proper place so he can stay there a bit longer
