Hibiscus is ~13ish and trying desperately to be cool, so honestly taking pleasure in anything is a source of guilt. We are all sending thoughts and prayers to him that one day he might grow the fuck out of it. More specifically, he'd actually really rather be doing contests than island challenges or league battles, but this is something he's denying even to himself at present.

As more or less his exact opposite, guilty pleasure is not a concept Aeron has ever given half a thought to; well, people have tried to introduce her to it, but it rolls off her without making it through her thick armour of not giving a shit. Aeron takes pleasure in whatever Aeron feels like taking pleasure in, and everyone else can go jam their heads up a pig.

Mirkel's guilty pleasure is having money. He was born incredibly poor and very much aligns himself with the dregs of society, so he keeps getting pangs of guilt over the fact that his adventuring is now bringing in more money than he actually needs, and keeps nervously hoarding it and trying not to spend any of it lest he accidentally become nobility somehow. Oddly enough, this leads to him having more money, and thus the cycle continues. He's currently saving for a house, but can't think about it too hard or he starts to panic at the notion of actually owning property.

Hibiscus gets tummy troubles if he eats anything too spicy. He does anyway, because of the aforementioned appearing cool thing. He's really hoping Hau has never noticed he disappears into the nearest loo after they share a spicy malasada. Hau has noticed.

Vigdis Cadash can and will eat the spiciest things she can get her hands on despite growing up on fairly basic dwarf cuisine. She and Bull do spice-eating contests. On one memorable occasion, they both got horribly carried away and laid themselves up for several days; Vigdis is still kind of proud of that.

Lifkana the khajiit is a curry hoover, but used to never eat it because he was living too high-class a lifestyle. Ironically. Now he's fallen on harder times, he is rediscovering his love of a good curry, and also rediscovering getting very upset when it makes his nose run.

Rilli will drink weird drugged fermented meat drink till the cows come home but regards putting anything more than salt on her actual food with deep suspicion.

Hibiscus had Old Gateau once when he was a little kid and it changed his life. Not that he admits that, naturally.

Paddy has an apple fixation, so anything apple-flavoured just gets automatically purchased. He usually has something apple-y in his purse. For a doctor, he eats far too much candy; he's insistent that it's necessary to keep him sweet.

Andy Lavellan doesn't actually like sweet things super duper much. Occasionally he gets anxiety over it in case people think he's strange. He does, however, enjoy liquorice. Salted liquorice.

Merin will die, will die a horrible slow death, will more to the point maim people, before he admits that he really really enjoys butterscotch.

Hibiscus: 'no'. It was his first word as a child and the trend has continued, though in recent years the word 'whatever' has rapidly approached breaking its lead.

Kitty (my Pokemon Black pc) is something of a 'like'-er, but she hasn't noticed and if she did she would defend her right to, like, use 'like' as much as she, like, likes, to the death. Like.

Mortuary the bot-disposal bot probably most overuses 'oh', which I suppose is less of a word and more of an interjection or something, but he sure does use it a lot.

Kirvin Surana has an annoying tendency to dismiss anything he disapproves of as 'dull' or 'boring'. Being boring, to Kirvin, is the worst sin, because he can find something to be interested in in almost anything. So he doesn't perhaps overuse the word in the context of using it often, but he does overuse it in the context of describing things he doesn't like.

i have to admit, the plotting in blackwhite is actually pretty excellent for this anime. and there's some genuinely clever villainy
just, like
couldn't you have done all this with team plasma instead of Suddenly Competent jessie, james and meowth
there are three seasons of blackwhite and team plasma literally doesn't turn up till the third despite giovanni saying in the first episode that most of the reason he sent the rocket trio to unova was to flush team plasma out
yet they are not flushed out until team rocket finishes being thwarted in its evil

 

i'm mostly just sort of sad because i can't get the connection i used to get with the rocket trio. i had so much emotion about them i couldn't watch when they were given a chance to Be Good And Happy because i knew the status quo would take it away again. but now they're just... evil people carrying out their evil plans, all the personality is gone. it's great plotting, like i said, i just wish it was someone else who never had any personality to take away in the first place.

 

more reason to write that fic i guess, but it's a slippery bastard and refuses to be pinned down in words

it is my fondest, most deeply held and probably most likely to be canon headcanon that giovanni doesn't give a single, solitary fuck about pikachu and is in fact sick of the word and the species as a whole

 

admittedly it's been a while since ash last crossdressed in the series but i feel like i remember him almost always being a redhead
guess they really like to go for the redheads=fiery idea?
