there are 590o85543 good scientific reasons why this wouldn't happen, but: ash with those cool branching lightning scars from being shocked by pikachu so much
good to have team rocket pull another one of their intermittent and depressingly temporary heel face turns i love you my children. my babies
me, a parody of myself: CELEBI??? CELEBI??? THIS HAS TO BE ABOUT CE- to be fair there's enough adorable gentleness and stupid green hair involved i'm now side-eyeing N as a lost-in-time-brainwashed-celebi-masquerading-as-a-human soon i will replace every human character except ash with a legendary pokemon who has the hots for him soon okay but if we go by that token, he'd also look like hero-Aka's todoroki by now from getting fried by charizard so often and Oh my god I just spent several minutes staring at the german name of it and wondering why the sentence looks like idiot juice this is why I should try and sleep through the night and not give up at half past 5 am
to be fair, N would really enjoy meeting celebi i'm p sure also lbr legendary pokemon have got to be doing something with their time ...gently pats also he hasn't travelled with charizard for a while so clearly that's worn off
....how many completely identical family lines who all go into the exact same job are there in the pokemon world it's not just jennies and joys, it's battle whatsit runners and cruise ship porters as well apparently
i feel like sending out so many cruise ships that you can get off the ship, watch it sail away, then pick up another one going the same places the next day is far more inefficient than just. y'know. docking at the islands for a day and going on on the same ship
i think at that point it's not a cruise ship anymore, it's just a ferry with a slightly stretched out schedule.
apparently this season of the anime has decided that metapod can move around, in a sort of weird hopping manner i'm not sure i approve
me: [peacefully watching pokemon] james: [suddenly has an entirely different voice in the middle of an episode] me, as my train of thought derails and rolls in a shrieking mass of metal through a heavily populated neighbourhood: i hope to god this is a plot point or something and not a permanent thing
first episode of blackwhite: here's zekrom, being mysterious and vaguely threatening! what could this meeeeean! last episode of blackwhite: oh, you were waiting for us to actually do something with zekrom? sorry, guess we forgot. wasn't reshiram good enough? no? fuck you, go watch the movies we usually pretend never happened
pokemon world economic stuff: i'm not going to plan out a whole economy for each region, because fuck that, but i'm fairly sure of some things: -all regions have universal basic income, probably starting from ~age 10 because that seems to be the minimum age you can officially Go Out On A Pokemon Journey. it's enough to cover you buying decent pokemon care equipment such as would be expected from a trainer. those who don't go out on journeys probably usually save it to eventually get set up in their own place or whatever. -a lot of places like pokemon daycares, breeding centres, research labs, sometimes even gyms will offer internships or apprenticeships with room and board included. -pokemon centres offer free room and board, but most likely for only a maximum of like a week? probably the rules are flexible depending on circumstances and i bet if you're legitimately stuck the Joys will usually help you out. otherwise you can probably work for your keep. the rule is mostly there as a gentle encouragement for people to, well, keep on journeying and not outright abuse hospitality for no good reason because, hey, there's usually quite a lot of people coming in and out and the Joys have work to do, it's not actually a hotel. pokemon healing is always and forever free. -so is person healing -winning gym battles, contests, tournaments etc give cash prizes, the biggest naturally coming from the Leagues and the Grand Festivals and other special, famous tournaments like the Wallace Cup. Casual battles between trainers meeting on the road etc are usually just for fun, but it's perfectly legal to bet money on them if you want to ramp up the stakes. -entering into a big tournament like a League gets you a free hotel room and food for the duration of the tournament even if you don't make it past the qualifiers, though you can leave earlier if you like -there are often big 'Trainer special' sales on camping equipment in outdoor stores
