things i have picked up about the new season of pokemon from looking at random tumblr blogs:
- a thing saying that the designers/writers wanted goh (sp? i legit can't recall) to be nonbinaryish/androgynous looking on purpose hence the hairclips and such, which I cannot verify as being really real but is intriguing (i think they're using he/him pronouns in the dub and stuff which is fuckin' typical but eh)
- at least the possibility that they'll bring back may, dawn, serena, iris etc etc, which would mean they've committed to canonising all of them, which frankly is to me the better option even if it does make the timeline basically puff pastry
- folks do be on their high horse about subs vs dubs still

discord has deigned to move beyond the 'checking for updates' step and is now caught in an infinite 'connecting' loop

burned the shit out of my mouth today on two separate foodstuffs (tea in a thermos that i keep forgetting actually does its job and keeps it hot, and reheated pizza) and now i'm eating ice lollies and this is a very strange feeling

 

i've been playing skyrim again

my argonian bitsy on the ps4, and then a bit of rilli and malgrave on the pc

bitsy dislikes roads and mudcrabs, and cares only for alchemy and smithing. she is quite moral in her own way, but also pretty deeply antisocial at her core; people are fun to needle information out of, but spending too much time talking when she isn't getting something immediate out of it is Stupid. she hasn't achieved much yet, she's the character i spend most time just farting about on.
thanks to a discussion with @Loq she is also officially a Skyrim breed argonian, from a secret colony that exists because the model they used for the eldergleam tree looks like the model they used for young Hist trees in Online. Skyrim argonians are shorter, sturdier, have thicker scales, are more tolerant of cold in general, and have more efficient air-breathing lungs because of the altitudes and less efficient gills due to the higher oxygen concentration in cold water.
bitsy is also bright pink, and venomous. is this venom natural or is she coating her teeth in alchemical concoctions? nobody knows.

rilli... is honestly almost done, unless when i get round to downloading the new dungeons mods i have my eye on i decide to run her through them. the only main quest really left is Dawnguard, which i probably will do on her, on the anti-vampire side because she thinks they are Smelly and up themselves. i finished the aetherium forge quest on her, and honestly it was wasted on her because she was not impressed whatsoever; bitsy on the other hand will go absolutely batshit for the whole thing when i do it on her, i know that already.
on the homesteading front i have decided that it's no good trying to get winstad manor to work for her, it's Cursed, so she and her fambly are staying at honeyside (bitsy will probably set up home at Winstad instead, with maybe Lakeview as a cosy second bolthole). I've managed to retrieve her daughters, by dint of teleporting myself to where they were (in solitude. i forgot i sent them to solitude) and telling them to go the fuck back to riften; the son i attempted to adopt via the multiple adoptions mod seems to have completely disappeared and i must be getting his refID wrong because the game just doesn't recognise it at all, so he has presumably vanished into the ether and will henceforth exist only in stories. all that remains to get rilli make to domestic bliss is to re-enable the multiple marriages mod and reclaim her husband, which i shall be doing next time i get on.

malgrave had several adventures today, because i got a quest in whiterun that sent me to the rift and decided to ride there instead of just quick-travelling. on the way, i decided that malgrave rides her horses bareback (thank you convenient horses mod) and also determined that travelling with Uthgerd the Unbroken as a follower is basically just me going 'where's my wife? there she is. i love my wife. thank you for killing that spider, wife. you're the best wife' a lot. which is very in-character for Malgrave, because she loves her wife. Uthgerd also does a lot of the mercenary contract negotiating for things like taking back forts from assholes who stole them while you were away, because Malgrave still doesn't speak very good Tamrielic. thank you wife for malgrave's life.
malgrave also found a drug den that was actually a front for vampires, which was a dungeon i entirely missed previously somehow. she was not impressed. drug dens should not contain vampires. i found out it was a front for vampires by automatically picking a lock on a door, which very much upset the previously friendly management, which was probably the most in-character way to ever accidentally bust a vampire drug operation.
going on to immediately do the dungeon that i actually went there to do however turned out to be a mistake, since it was very long and falmer are? really hard to kill? apparently i was spoiled by killing them on rilli. either way by the time i got to the boss i had two (2) healing potions left and no food, and simply couldn't win, so i had to reload the save i made all the way back at the beginning and hoof it to riften to try and start collecting healing items, food, spells, etc (while loudly ignoring brynjolf trying to provide cover for me to steal a thing, which i am never going to do on malgrave, shut up brynjolf). next time i shall be prepared.
malgrave has also shown something of an interest in enchanting, which is interesting.

the weirdest thing to do when going between characters is to go in and out of their attitudes to food. rilli, a true-blue wood elf, won't touch anything that isn't meat (or salt, which she fuckin. eats by itself, like a cow with a salt lick). bitsy adores cooking because it's just alchemy in another form, and has the advantage of a mod that makes all food weightless, so she takes everything (except bread. for some reason she dislikes bread very much); she has a great weakness for cheese and wine. malgrave likes food, and can cook, but both she and uthgerd cook very functionally, so it's kind of bland even if it fills you up and nourishes you and is probably all variations on like two themes: Roast Meat and Soup Stew. she also lacks the weightless food mod, so she won't take every single cabbage available like bitsy will.

bitsy needs a spouse. malgrave needs a home base and also children. maybe markarth? or, honestly, whiterun. whiterun suits her pretty well.

look, i see a lock, i pick it. what do they want me to do

malgrave is not a thief, but she enjoys the physical act of picking locks, and it's probably kind of a stim for her. they should have expected this when they invited her into their secret skooma lair

 

of note is the fact that i have Marry Almost Anyone and Adopt Almost Any Child mods on ps4, so bitsy is absolutely spoilt for choice when it comes to spouses and offspring. naturally this is completely wasted on her, since she's the kind of antisocial asshole who thinks courting is something to do with jarls.

i was considering marrying her off to that one (1) marriageable argonian from darkwater crossing, but he's both a) the same species and b) marriageable in basegame, thus making him doubly a waste, if very loveable.

maybe i'll try and marry someone entirely off the wall, like katria's ghost or something. kind of doubt i'll be permitted to marry her but you never know your luck. better take an amulet of mara along to arkngthamz just in case

 

play dawnguard specifically to marry the fuckin falmer priest bastard at the end

 

i have never done dawnguard all the way thru so i don't know that guy but i'm in favour

 

look it's Thematic, there's a temple of Auriel (auri-el, auri'el, however the fuck it got stylized) in off-the-map Northern Skyrim™ with two (2) surviving non-dwemer-fuckery'd falmer priests left in it like........... 3/4? of the way through an anti-vamp dawnguard run
(I have never done pro-vamp dawnguard so I have No Idea if you can get there on that side, but it's a very neat map even without Falmer Bros)

gonna find an in character reason for bitsy to suddenly decide to take up vampire hunting, since she was thoroughly uninterested when accosted by a random dude in whiterun to start the quest
maybe i'll take her by the vampire drug den i found on malgrave yesterday, that should piss her off sufficiently
