Congratulations both on reading the thing and having at least one (1) Good Opinion already here in the thread now.
The whole comic got waaay queerer this chapter. Spender and Garcia, Day and Zarei, Jeff and Cody, RJ confirmed nonbinary...
Speaking of which. Yes, it's a guest comic, but I can't help but notice that this pointedly establishes that Isaac has romantic feelings and yet pointedly does not establish which gender or genders he feels them for.
I guess that's the part you can guess with reasonable confidence without having to ask Zach for spoilers. Because of course he is.
This is how Paranatural will return from hiatus. Not with a bang, but with some kid's big stupid face.
Omfg, I love it when you get a series of panels that can be shown completely without context and achieve the exact same effect (Honestly, the napkins are what impress me the most, I don't think that's physically possible lol)
My takeaway: Stephen's dad is a stage magician. I'm not sure if his mom is crying a tear of pride that the magician heritage is carrying on so strongly, a fond nostalgia for her husband wherever he is, or a wistful tear of wishing she, took, could so smoothly whip away a tablecloth without disturbing what's on top of it...
i figured his mom was the one who used to want to be a stage magician (or still wants to be a stage magician) but has a job as a cop now because it didn't work out
I mean, the longing is clearly there. The real question is whether it was a childhood dream or something she started wanting more recently, I think.
Whichever it was, I'm sure she would still describe the process of ceasing to pursue that "growing up."
