is there already a sprite editing thread

because if not there should be. here we are i guess.
what i've been doing isn't very impressive editing per se, i've just been recoloring a butt-ton of pokemon sprites (like the one in my avatar). if anyone has any requests they're welcome to toss 'em my way.

I used to make pokemorph sprites all the time- pokemon mashed up with trainer sprites. I haven't done it in years and lost all my old ones to a backup corruption, but today I picked it up again.

Quite pleased with these, actually.

Do you guys have any suggestions for what program to use for sprite edits? When I tried doing edits for my bloodswaps (very poorly, no tablet, no stylus) I had to alternate between paint.net and GIMP because GIMP wouldn't work for some stuff and paint.net had color bleeding issues.

(I know photoshop is probably my best bet but it's out of my budget)

 

i use firealpaca! it's got enough features to work for sprite editing/general drawing (layers, an antialiasing switch, etc) without a really cluttered/hard to use interface like gimp and photoshop.

paint.net is what i used for recoloring stuff. with the color bleeding i just filled some stuff in by hand tbh
edit: it wasn't paint.net, it was pixlr, my bad @tickingnectarine

 

....All my pokemorphs are just done on MS Paint.

 

hmmm, i made a trickster karkat once for a thing that didn't pan out but it's on my old computer, i wonder if my brother could dig it up

(i refuse to use anything except photoshop for ~90% of my sprite editing, while using some stuff in sai because i have the Worst version of photoshop, but i am very set in my ways)

 

made a bunch of mediocre bloodswap edits a while ago, this is probably my fave.

this one didn't turn out too bad either
