A neurologist and a therapist are not even the same thing fdgfh every time i think we've hit the core of the lie onion, another layer reveal itself
Okay I mostly have no dog in his fight but now I'm mad because that's a turn of phrase I specifically have been using for like, a year at least, to talk about the sheer unlikelihood of the volume of personal life drama I've been experiencing since December of 2017. Normally I wouldn't get all het up over a phrasing like that, but given the evidence that she's cherry picked forum stories here and there, I'm upset. Especially because I already have issues with worrying that people will disbelieve me because shit JUST KEEPS COMING. That's the harm I see this kind of thing doing - when someone creates a web of lies like this it fosters an environment of distrust, and sometimes people with unusual circumstances can't get community support without a pervasive sense of disbelief. And that's both uncomfortable and unhelpful for everyone involved.
Yeah. The mental health professional stuff was specifically what gave me the completely bland sim-with-red-minus-sign “nah” reaction. Every time the therapist history was mentioned, it was like all my curiosity up and fled for warmer climes. I didn’t hear about any doctorate until very very late in the game, but that was super-whatever. It really piqued my disinterest. I have no idea why. It never occurred to me that it might be a lie until this first started coming to light, and then I recalled it and wondered.
casually reminding everyone of That One Thread last year, under spoilers, wherein Claims Were Made: Spoiler: cp, csa, That One Thread so, not a small claim.
On the server there was this big argument about Jade Nameless and LSD. It was a mess. Here are the neurochem degree claim and psychologist claim. Actually, looking back on it now, with this new info, I feel bad for Jade. she was really freaking out and asking for more info but Jove didn't want to give it. I'm starting to wonder if she ever had it.
Yeah. I know lots of people who get accused of lying fairly often. (Thus the tumblr post "maybe it sounds fake to some people, but you are not the only person i've talked to who's been molested by two consecutive stepdads. you're not even the only one with a user name beginning with k.")
The general scumminess (and it is scummy as fuck) aside, isn't lying about that shit like... actually verifiably dangerous? ESPECIALLY on a forum full of mentally ill people seeking help and support from one another? Ugh.
Yes yes it very much is, especially since she offered to give 'Therapy' for Alix this is the exact same thing as someone printing a diploma out from the internet, renting a bunch of rooms and opening a GP practice just with less chance to hunt them out and sue for damages ETA: claiming to be a medical professional (mental health fully included) when you're not is in fact a persecutable offense that you can get punished for in court.
Re: stories that sound fictional, I'm on the same page. I've mentioned to multiple people how my life feels like a cheap exploitative soap opera. I think part of the reason so many outrageous lies flew for so long is that if you question everyone who's had multiple violent assaults, is trans, has a bunch of unusual medical conditions, and has been through more dramatic life events than seem feasible, you're gonna have to question....... 98% of this forum.
fwiw, the mental health professional claims have not been disproven, but are very unlikely given we now know she’s a liar
I mean, the claims I've seen so far are neurologist (medical degree specialistation), psychologist with work experience AND a degree in neurochem, which would likly be a biologist specialization and that sounds highly unlikely to me, especially in someone's who's in her mid-thirties yes the fields are related but they're not identical and a qualification in one does not translate to a qualification in another Fake edit: Also I'm trying to get her timeline straight, she claimed to have been a psych for ten years, meaning she'd have to have been one at 24, if I'm remembering her current age correctly as 34?
a thought that just occured to me: I'm fairly sure doctorate works are published, so if she has a PhD, it should be findable as a publication somewhere.
I'm wondering if the psychologist claims are rooted in truth somewhere but greatly exaggerated? She gave off hand comments about being a therapist all the time. Maybe the truth is that she worked in some sort of counselling position at some point?
If you had a name, you may be able to track down a thesis, although it may depend on when it happened? For exanple, the university I attend has an online collection of theses from graduated students, and it looks like the earliest they have an electronic record of is from the 50s. You can also find them through Google Scholar and the like, although once again, might depend on the timeframe. (of course, if you had a name you'd also be able to Google and see if anything comes up corresponding to any of the proposed careers.)
To be clear, I am not advocating going out and trying to find a name. Just talking from my experience as a person who occasionally reads theses and does a lot of searching for publications
