aww that is really cool stuff! especially holo larp I have a sudden mighty need for that tech to exist irl help
... nah, but I can see kintsugi!Ivy rping as Nono or Resch, that'd be weird but fun. I wonder if rping-a-character-larping turns out different than regular larping...
The robot looked at the game board and considered their dice. This was a particularly bizarre fantasy world that the DM had created for the group. Finally Moss sighed. "Alright." "I decide to major in Biology." "Roll for it." #it's not LARPing but i'm a rebel
larping would be more like *aggressively hunts down the tenth game master in a row to tell them you will major in biology and need help organizing that, only to be told, for the 12th time that they'd get the gm that does major coordination, which theywill likely still not get done.* though I do figure in the day and age of holo!larp in cyber space that'd be less horrible by miles :P #still bitter about our splodey barrel not having a declared effect because gm missed making the call #that was a fucking barrel of gunpowder all we wanted was a shockwave not even aoe damage ffs
"Okay, so in order to declare a major, you have to go to this building. But that's just to declare within your College, so you're also going to have to go to this building to officially declare your major to the University. They're going to give you a sheet of paper that you need to take here, where they can enter it into the system, and also here, which is the financial aid building. and you need to do it before..." *consults watch* "4pm today." #still bitter about college in general actually whoops #i mean it was fun #but dear sweet robot Moss has already been a robot through future college #and would still hate my old institution
This all looks very interesting and I've debated jumping in for a couple days, but I'm also finding it kind of overwhelming Is it alright for your character to be a character separate from your forum persona, or are we meant to stick to -- for lack of a term without unwanted negative connotations -- self-inserts? Also, has someone, or will someone compile all the worldbuilding stuff into an easy-to-navigate-and-digest form somewhere? Maybe a Space Kintsugi Wiki or something?
Mine isn't a self-insert! Worldbuilding is here: https://kintsugi.seebs.net/threads/kintsugi-in-space-infodump.1564/
Yeah, I made Ivy to be kind of like me (or more like like I would want to be) but as an interesting character if that makes sense? meaning their quirks are some stuff I have (like my addiction to caffeine, the hyperactive brain squirrel thing when doing breathing exercises (UGHHHHH) and disliking bright lights) but also alien stuff because I am bad at not worldbuilding all over my ocs :P and all of that is kind of exaggerated for theatrics and fun (Like playing a character who is really, really small is just kinda somethign i wanted to try. The pointy ears are because I like pointy ears. That kinda stuff)
Yeah, it seemed most people's characters were "me, but in space and exaggerated" And I have issues with doing that one just now, due to brainweird, so I was just wondering if it's cool if I make up a character out of whole cloth instead of doing something that will be associated with me as a person. It sounds like that's okay, so I'll do that, and make a subaccount they can be associated with instead
I don't like to brag, and it's not what you've got, it's what you do with your tentacles that matters.
jesse the farmer is basically murphy the space cowboy from my DtD game, but with my personality. (murphy the space cowboy is kind of a dick. :P)
'tsugi-sona's adult humanish form is slightly taller than me and slightly less femme. I am not in reality a shapeshifting spirit.
And I am not, in reality, a community radio host. I only play one on television. But then, what's the difference anyway? Please remember to submit your up to date birth certificates -- and death certificates -- to the Greater Kintsugi System Civic Administration. Opening hours are whenever they feel like it, and you don't want to be there when they're closed. Hang a left down the abandoned library corridor with the extra cobwebs. You know the one. #I may be relistening to the entirety of WTNV #I regret nothing
