I used one of the jars of marinara and one of the cans of tomato puree in a big ol' pan of shakshuka and Mom told me to just throw out the mushroom soup and evaporated milk, so now it's down to a marginally less massive volume of just tomato-related substances, which is progress.
Tried adapting a Bolivian pork recipe last weekend, and I'm still super happy at the results. Not exactly like home, but it tasted really good! Also had to adapt it to slow cooker, partially, since I don't have a baking pan that is deep and thus able to hold liquids (the recipe calls for beer)
I may have said this before somewhere, but if you're like me and love instant pancake mix (I have never succeeded at from scratch and a good serving of krusteaz will never be a no), I highly recommend pouring in your favorite tea instead of the called for water! I enjoy chai pancakes, lady gray pancakes, and raspberry tea pancakes quite a lot!
Made cheesy garlic muffins today! They were so soft and springy, would make excellent dinner bread for the sopping ability and mild flavor. I may experiment with the recipe by swapping around flavor! My mom suggested maybe a fruit yogurt instead of plain to swap in while omitting the garlic and cheese, or adding jalapenos, or making a maple glazed sausage muffin! It's got good bones in general. Here's the recipe, when it calls for sour cream I did a 1 to 1ish swap with plain Greek yogurt. When I say plain, I do not mean vanilla, I mean unflavored. I added just a smidge more yogurt than called for cause I like the flavor. I'd post a photo but the upload function is fighting me. They did not look like the photo on the recipe site, they're significantly paler and bigger, but no less tasty
All of the recipetin recipes are so good. I've seriously never been failed by a recipe of hers, other than that it just didn't agree with me for one reason or another
