(To clarify just in case (not bc of Ivy, I just realized I wasn't clear: you don't have to suggest one of these quests; you could also suggest, like. Look for work! or Run around Hightown yelling! or Go search for unlocked boxes to take stuff from (although that last one I'll just sort of automatically do wherever I go.))

 

Ah, if we do Flemeth's quest will it do plot things and close off the possibility of going with Varric? And vice versa, I guess.

Also it would be nice to explore the area a little and see some more npc dialogue, though I don't doubt some of that would happen regardless.

 

for the record, I have played like 1/3 of Origins and I got stuck on some battle. I have a passing knowledge of most of the companions from 2 and Inquisition and some spoilers because tumblr but that's about it.

@adisagestar Nope, none of the quests are mutually exclusive! Going on the deep roads expedition ends act 1 and gets rid of any quest we haven't done yet, but none of the others will shut off plot options.

 

In that case, my only vote is for not going on the deep roads expedition until we've done everything else!

...though, maybe we should take care of Flemeth's amulet first, since we promised to deliver it over a year ago.

 

Also, for general edification: the map in DA2 is divided into areas. They have a couple exits/entrances scattered around the edges, and from there you can teleport to pretty much any other area. I'll get a screenshot of the various areas when I get the chance.

(Also I intend to transcribe the Codex entries we have at some point - you unlock them as you go, backstory and lore are cool, and taking screenshots of all of it seems impractical.)

 

I'd kind of like to pick up Aveline first just because I luff her, but Long Way Home is a strong second!

 

I've realized that without Aveline, we're short-handed - you're allowed to take three companions along, and we've only got two, so we might get our ass kicked. SO. Executive decision: swing by the keep to pick up Aveline, then go up the mountain.

 

(We need to get Aveline and then go to the mountain bc then we are only 1 more companion away from the Lady Party)

 

Also I've played all the games (except for most DLC oops) so I can explain things!

This thread is gonna be interesting when we have to decide who to romance.

It is gonna be interesting, isn't it? :D especially since individual dialog choices are picked in a much more chaotic and individual way than big objectives.. we'll see how it goes.
