We can go find out more about Tranquility and Wardens and eventually Anders and Ser-Pounce-A-Lot in the other thread
Oh, that oc sounds interesting! I want to ask about them now but I also want to avoid spoilers :P >Do as he asks. It seems like the kinder option :(
She's not actually spoilery- I made her for a friend's AU that kind of is, but her background is just -plagued by horrible demon dreams -Circle only really offers one kind of cure for those -also has horrible anxiety/mood disorders and regards prospect of emotionlessness as kind of a relief, actually -ends up outside of Circle because of Reasons, cannot now fireball people, learns to stab them in face instead
Well, I have to sleep and this seems like a sufficiently weighty decision to let sit overnight, so... : > Also, [Family Member] is coming home tomorrow and will probably want to use the PC for things other than leaving video games open all day, so I may be updating less. And then next week there's a hopefully largish chance my application will turn out how I want and all will be well, and a hopefully smallish chance that it won't and I'll be in an essay-writing tizzypanic for the next several weeks. :| Hoping for the first one.
oh man anders looks so sad and troubled. -sighs LOUDLY and adds Anders to pile of kicked-puppy-favs- I think Poor Karl deserves to get his wish granted. so > Do as he wishes.
@IvyLB FUN FACT that we won't learn in-game due to playing f!Hawke: they were totally boyfriends in the past. ): >A spirit of justice? I'm sad that we lost the previous purple-Hawke option ("and now your eyes glow") after investigating. ): >_?
(ouch my feels :'U) (good spirits who emboy our virtues........ soundsfakebutokay.jpg) > Are you saying what I think?
Can I just say that it's refreshing to play a game where the answer to "were they boyfriends" is just "yes" instead of "the creators would never admit it so there's just a bunch of ambiguous subtext". That said, rip Karl. :(
Thanks for this thread -- several people I know are into DA, and I find it interesting but doubt I would enjoy playing it myself. I also find the text-and-screenshots format much more amenable than a video LP, so this thread is just what I needed. Anyway... I'm torn between the second and third options. If I were in Hawke's position I'd probably pick the third so as not to dwell on this subject, but since this is a video game, maybe we should be prying for more information. :P
For people unfamiliar with lore (not a spoiler): what Anders is saying is true. There are good spirits who embody virtues. Generally they don't meddle with humans unless they find one who seems particularly worthy of their aid or who is as close to a human embodiment of the virtue as they can find. What Anders is NOT saying, though he's implying it, is that when a spirit is corrupted by the physical world, it can turn into a demon embodying kinda like the dark side of the virtue. Wisdom spirits are twisted into Pride demons, for instance. When he says "I guess I had too much anger"... well, that's open to interpretation ;) ETA: If you go to the Origins thread, you can even see for yourself a good Spirit of Valor helping a mage - only after she's convinced it she's worthy of its aid! :D
@wixbloom Indeed, although on the other hand, various other takes on the Fade from other characters seem to suggest that the spirit/demon divide is not as sharp as the Chantry suggests. (I guess that is covered by the corruption you mentioned.) >So, he's a nice spirit? is it ,':) Ok, I have to admit, the way DA characters' brows descend aggressively over their eyes sort of freaks me out. >Investigate >Can you undo this? >Investigate >Can you control it? A wild FLIRT OPTION appeared!! ..Don't be bothered by the fact that it immediately follows a series of unsettling personal revelations; Hawke always seems to flirt at inopportune times. >_?
