(Relatedly, I decided game overs in my favorite game are the magic time children spirit guides' bad ends, and you reloading is them resetting. The game has enough people whose power is essentially "save scumming" that it's easy to point at lots of stuff and say "that is the result of invisible time shenanigans.")
Bit of a pity Fenris isn't here, he has a lovely tiny bit of dialogue in this scene. Regarding Lia's plea, he says very gently "She is a child and does not understand. Her pity is admirable, but misplaced". You can also gain approval from him for some choices. Anyway, yes, "that's not my decision" works
:::OOO Curses, why didn't anyone mention we could have got Boyfriend Points without being a dick to mages when we were picking the party for this quest?
His approval doesn't actually change, according to the wiki! Which is weird and maybe a bug or maybe the wiki is wrong.
he does - hm. spoilers. Spoiler: spoilerz He has that line you mentioned, and if you don't kill the guy he asks to, but you don't get any approval or rivalry either way, which is weird cuz usually you get approval from companion help prompts.
>That isn't my decision. Sparrow shrugs and, probably, lies through her teeth. ... And suddenly becomes a way more compelling character to me! I'm fascinated. Someone write me meta about our crowdsourced Hawke. :P
I love that beat of awkward silence you created with the no-text screenshot, because it becomes, "Wow, I just lied my ass off and she totally bought it. Okay."
>RECTANGULAR SKELETON FIRING SQUAD (they claw their way out of the ground behind and ahead of us) Fireball + cone of cold pretty much takes care of one group, though. Do you know what spell is my favorite, shallow aesthetic fantasy-wish-fulfillment wise? MIND BLAST. they're all flung like ten feet away and stunned. by my braaaaaain bonus: i never noticed that da2's skeleton archers have porcupine-ly arrowful heads and torsos. that's so cool!!! One weird, glitchy skeleton guy gets stuck in the lava? What are you doing there bro
@LadyNighteyes Initially I took it because I wanted to show the movement of Hawke stepping aside, and then I noticed that the next one conveyed that fine anyway; but I also loved the silent beat so I kept it. >A door! A door! A man! A... very calm man. Weird. >You came here to die? Aaand we're back to bluegreen/purple/red. >_?
Where did you think they kept all those arrows when they weren't shooting at you? :::PPP [something something HEATING THINGS UP pun]
@LadyNighteyes @IvyLB I love how much emotion gets read into the screenshots! I'm not arranging it on purpose at all, and most of the animations are just - you know - "turn towards whoever is speaking" or "look ahead" and would probably be the same animation regardless of who was there. But because we are invested in the characters, we read their personalities into it. Which is suuuper cool.
