Kiss With A Fist

"No, I'm not," Rashad glances at him, brows arched. "Just not sure you were doing the kind of packing that was expected."

Abigail chokes on her water, sets it down and fans herself with a squeak.

Scott laughs, loud, and punches Rashad in the shoulder. "So you do have a spine after all!"

 

Yosef laughs, almost inaudible, like a dog's grin. "We finished early."

 

"One and done, understood," Rashad replies flatly.

Scott snorts, trying to stifle his laughter with his knuckles

 

"That's dessert." He's deadpan, leaning over to squeeze Abigail's hand.

 

Abigail squeaks, tangles her fingers with his and blushes bright.

 

He smiles at her, leaning in to kiss her cheek gently.

 

She bites her lip, then shyly kisses him back.

 

He pulls back, eyes half-closed in pleasure, and squeezes her hand again in a silent promise. Later.

 

She nods.

The rest of the table has kept talking, apparently deciding that workplace romance is not something they're getting involved in.


It's nice.

... Very nice.

She leans into his side as Rashad and Scott start bantering back and forth.

 

He wraps his arm around her, smiling wider as he watches the banter.

 

The appetizers arrive soon, and they're plentiful and look absolutely mouth-watering.

 

Yosef stares at them, like he's not quite sure what to do with the situation, before he starts slowly digging in.

 

The rest of the dinner party does, too, and Abigail lets out a quiet sound of surprise. "Scott, this place is fantastic-"

"What, you actually thought I had bad taste?"

"Er, well..." Abigail hesitates.

"We've seen the shit you bring for lunch, Sakach," Rashad rolls his eyes.

 

Yosef snorts. "... No comment."

 

The rest of the dinner is vivid, loud, and takes hours... and when the bill comes Bashian leans over, holding a credit card out to Yosef. "Here, Douglas said to give you this when I told her I was cutting out early to give you a hand."
