this very much does depend on the wiring taking and i need to pull the, well, pull wires closer over the course of things, the structure wires im rly happy with
it look horribly fucky and any actually good bonsai master would likely shake their head at me in disgust but i'm having fun

Night in the Black Gardens is nothing like night in the sol system. It is nothing like ‘Night’ in general. Frankly Hall-9 isn’t entirely sure he still remembers what night is supposed to be like. It has been so long and he is lonely to the point of near madness, but sometimes when something falls on him or he touches something he should not, he sees something like stars anyways in front of his blind optics, false sparks of electricity and impulsive illusions dancing in the endless black.

When he sleeps he dreams (and not of electric sheep, though if he stays here long enough that might also change) and his dreams are lit with that same everpresent maddening dim daylight as his waking hours now, though he knows he has this dream a lot and he used to remember it with starlit night skies as he and his comrades die, one after the other, while trying to push a lost front towards a tower he could not describe as anything but A Tower even were he pressed to.

Sometimes he dreams instead of a spinning ball of fire far away and yet right here underneath his plating.

His favorite is when he sleeps and nothing happens at all, his brain simply shutting off for a few hours until Volta wakes him up again. He might as well be dead in those hours for how distant everything feels.

He just wishes he could die where he can see the stars, at least one last time.
