Except to all the people who hate Homestuck and never liked it, the huge amount of people who never heard of it, the people who like it and are capable of liking other things (which is most of'm judging from all the fandoms in the world they've migrated to), etc. etc. Keep writing, you'll have plenty of market.
Yeah! Writing is a skill and skills take time and practice to develop. You can't look at one piece of media and say "that's it, I'm ruined!" That's not the way it works.
It sucks to see something you really like and kind of overwhelms you and not have any IDEA of how to do anything like that. It feels like you could never in a million years do something like that. You don't have to do something like that to make something good. You have something to offer that is uniquely your own. Keep in mind also that Hussie is 37ish and has been at this for a while. You can see he's improved over time - there was a clear leap in storytelling ability and characterization between Problem Sleuth and Homestuck. And honestly? A lot of what makes Homestuck work is sheer audacity. It's kind of a huge mess, and it falls apart pretty severely in the latter half of act 6 because like with Problem Sleuth, he still doesn't know how to end a story without dragging it out until he finally has to push it off a cliff. He's very good, and I think Homestuck is a great story overall! But he's still got a lot to learn, too, and it shows. You can learn from that. Keep writing, keep reading. Dissect the things you like to see how they work, and that will improve your writing. It's a slow process, but working at it does work.
WHY IS SHE WEARING RED. SERIOUSLY. THE LAST TIME THAT HAPPENED WAS PRETTY UNAMBIGUOUSLY BAD. And that necklace looks like the tiara top if it was a collar! I would be using this design for a businessy Crocker Tier Jane! ...though now that I think of it I don't think we know exactly what ARQuisprite did when he was fussing with the tiara...
Brand Recognition maybe, considering she turned the spoon back like she had said she wanted to on the logo.
WHAT brand, her CrockerCorp is literally the only one anyone outside of the kids will know about outside of fragmentary ruins from when CrockerCorp conquered the world. Why would that association be good? Seriously Jane reusing the trappings of the Batterwitch without making her own designs bugs me!
I just thought of it as her reclaiming it for herself and using it as she pleased, like the spoon. Even if nobody else outside of them knew it, she would. Otherwise :loud shrugging: idk dude, I'm sorry it is upsetting.
Jane genuinely loved her family's company and all of the branding that went along with that. If she wants to reclaim it and give it good associations that's her choice. Just because WE associate her with light blue doesn't mean that she's ever been particularly fond of it. Canonically she grew up looking forward to running this company and happily collecting all the marketing products. I don't think that she'd be willing to give all that up to the batterbitch when she has the power to make all of those symbols good ones again.
Are they passing Roxy's phone back and forth or are Roxy and Callie both snap chatting Jane from their individual devices
