  1. chaoticArbiter

    chaoticArbiter literally Eevee

don't be sorry I love it

.....in all sincerity, though, I'd probably prototype my favorite stuffed animal, a blue plush rabbit named Kamiko.

  3. peripheral

peripheral Stacy's Dad Is Also Pretty Rad

I'd totally prototype my stuffed Panda.

    I just realized
    if I prototyped my dog
    it would also be Jaspersprite

  5. Question. Does anyone more experienced with poly ships have thoughts on Dave/Jade/Karkat/Terezi as a solution to the great shipping debate? (Thoughts on Jade/Terezi would be most appreciated because I'm not sure how they get along since they didn't interact much in canon)

keltka the green and brown one

There is some really nice art of it IIRC
and I think Jade/Terezi would get along pretty well? Jade would probably see through some of her stuff and call her on it, and Terezi would challenge Jade p well intellectually
    pale/pitch with makeouts?

    Lizardlicks Friendly Neighborhood Lizard

Idle ponderings at lunch: Kind of want to go through a Homestuck reread to figure out what it would be rated according to the MPAA (I mean obvs the f-bombs alone would put it solidly over R- thanks Karkat- but what about the other stuff??).

If they DID make a movie, what hilarious ways would the adaption get fucked up? My money is on terrible, fully CGI trolls.

    winterykite Non-newtonian genderfluid

i was about to say "gutting any sort of character from the ladies" and then i read "hilarious".
probably some shit with the pesterlogs and quirks.

  11. Whoops

    Whoops enough

As long as they put the troll horns in the hair instead of on the forehead (it just looks super dumb to me) I don't care how bad the cgi is.

  12. coldstars

    coldstars get Jazzy on it

There's a lot of bloody deaths on screen (in technicolor troll blood :ohnoes:), plus the language...I would put it at least at R rating as is, by weaksauce MPAA standards, though in my head I wouldn't exactly call it mature or explicit content ie AO3 standards

But can you fucking imagine a PG-13 censored Karkat

    He'd be so distraught

  14. Lizardlicks

    Lizardlicks Friendly Neighborhood Lizard

Karkat limited to exactly ONE (1) use of the word Fuck for a 1:45 run time. He saves it up for something really really good, and then Dave goes and wastes it on something incredibly stupid.

The blood I'm not so sure would bump up the rating specifically BECAUSE it's technicolor. The MPAA is weird like that, and you can get away with a lot of shit by giving everything little tweaks.

    coldstars get Jazzy on it

Gamzee I could see being totally content saying motherfudger and other dumb censored alternatives pre Murderstuck...and then suddenly he's sober and yelling MOTHERFUDGER at the top of his lungs in the least intimidating way possible

Oh god, though. If they cut out quadrants to save time, I would be distraught...

  16. garden

    garden lucid dreamer

Given that more than a few humans get bloody deaths as well, I think it's solidly R. See also the multiple decapitated heads, and the kissing of certain heads.

  17. Lizardlicks

    Lizardlicks Friendly Neighborhood Lizard

I'm wondering if rating would be easier to rate if it were broken down by acts. It start's out pretty innocent and light hearted, would be interesting to see the progression of violence and horror through the time line.

  19. Lizardlicks

    Lizardlicks Friendly Neighborhood Lizard

I never read the books nor sen the movie and I'm only really aware of the setting in a hat fandom sort of way (I have enough mutuals who were into it, and like to create AUs for it that I understand the mechanics of the world).

  20. winterykite

    winterykite Non-newtonian genderfluid

There was a last-minute decision to make it family-friendly, which killed any chance at filming its sequels.

(That trilogy is on my "we could've had it aaaaaall" list.)

So, executive meddling attempting to "cut unnecessary stuff". including the intermissions, probably. and then it ends before act 4.

oh man. what would the smuppets do to the rating. plush butts and dongs. can that even fly under the radar?
