The fact that Vriska spends the entire duration of the flash in a literal slapfight with Hussie. Casey in Hero Mode. The Undertale interlude. Everything involving Dad Crocker. If this act was going to end on a massive fight scene, this is EXACTLY how the tone of that fight scene needed to be.

...Oh god I just had a theory oh no. Spoiler So I've suspected for ages that LE's dominant consciousness is not actually Caliborn, because that would be too straightforward. We just saw alt!Calliope send fireflies to most of the Beta kids after a section where it showcases them with the Homestuck logo, which we know in-comic is associated with a juju that Caliborn says he'll use to trap their souls before becoming LE. What if she's planning to take over his body, and that's what Caliborn saw?

Spoiler I was wrong about order of events on rewatch, but it shows Caliborn opening a box which possibly contains the Homestuck juju, then shows the fireflies with spirals in them, then shows alt!Callie heading for the Green Sun. So I don't think it's an entirely bogus connection to make. It might make sense of something that I don't think has ever been addressed- LE has been steadily killing all of the horrorterrors. And make for a parallel with Aranea and her arc, about doing things ~for the greater good~ which are ruinously bad and egotistical ideas and make everything worse.
