first reaction: holy SHIT that was AMAZING second reaction: what the FUCK that can't possibly be IT I'm mad and happy and sad all at the same time.
I'm going to need some time to write a post that does this comic justice, but for now... Spoiler: minor spoipers You're welcome. But really...no, Hussie. Thank you. This comic changed my life, and I quite possibly wouldn't be here--alive--without it. There are so many important people I met through this story about kids playing a game, and so many important things I learned, and it had an impact on me that nothing else has ever had. Thank you, Hussie, for the ride.
Exactly. It was beautiful, and used some of my favorite music, and didn't answer any of my fucking questions, WHAT THE HELL.
Spoiler THERE ARE SO MANY UNANSWERED QUESTIONS ETA: Spoiler looks like Homestuck: The Anime is finally canon
oh my god oh my god oh my GOD? i cant even cry like I thought I would, I'm just numb oh my god holy shit oh my god btw, Spoiler: ending spoilers lildurandal called out in 2012 that Can Town would be the endgame reward
like. what the fuck? so many subplots dropped and left unresolved. so much character development out the window. but I still teared up a little at "THANKS FOR PLAYING." I love this dumb garbage webcomic. (and now I might have to write fanfiction for the first time in my life out of SHEER RAGE.) so Spoiler: exegesis? Calliope destroyed the Green Sun, which left Lord English (implied to be) powerless -- implying he's going to be defeated -- though the final blow wasn't shown onscreen. And they brought the ruined earth (did Jade get that from Doomed Calliope?) through into the new universe to build Can Town & everything. But what was Vriska's weapon? Was it the essences of all four betakids from the Game Over ending like someone theorized on Tumblr? WHAT THE FUCK
Spoiler okay it was absolutely amazing, but i really hate ambiguous endings. it feels like a cop out. i will say hussie was right, nearly everyone in the fandom has been saying homestuck's natural conclusion was to become an anime, and it did. that was the most hussie ending i've ever seen. well played, man. you got us again.
jesus fuck. the internet is going to EXPLODE. I think I'm going to have to stay off Tumblr for a little while. sometime when I have more time I'll reread the damn thing and see if it's, like, more coherent as a whole than in serial update form
