wait never mind that ship is worth the awfulness of like 50 grimdorks and cromwell's statue and boat COMBINED
Is anti tumblr like the same as tumblr except the logo has the stereotypical "bad guy" mustache and goatee, or was regular tumblr the evil twin all along
According to everything I've seen from anti fandom, it is in fact unproblematic because no one cares about potential abuse if both characters are already abusive and therefore Not Real People Who Matter. Besides, whoever heard of an abuser being abused? Don't be silly.
Question regarding fanfics- are AUs where the Trolls are demons (for whatever reason- demonstuck, fantasy setting, etc) cliche? Overused, etc? Or would I just have to come up with a twist to keep it unique?
I find the concept in general overused but that's me as an rper speaking mostly. If you really want to write one though go for it. Like sure it might oversaturate the market but who the fuck cares. Especially when most of the market is trash. LIVE YOUR DREAMS. Uniqueness is vastly overrated, honestly.
seconding aondeug! there might be a lot of demonstucks, but i will eagerly roll around in any i find that i like
I think it isn't used enough to be overdone yet - and even if it is, the fandom's pretty huge. There will be peeps (like me) who haven't seen tons of it yet. Besides, even if someone had seen a zillion demonstuck fics, they wouldn'tve seen yours in particular yet so if they're into the idea they'll read it.
It seems I am bad at finding things then. Do either of you have any specific recs or should I just wade around in ao3 some more :3c
Also Deresto brings up a good point. Think of your fic like a horror film. Yes, we horror fans have seen tons of the fucking things. Perhaps it's another god damn slasher and we already know the ins and outs of that particular subgenre but we go to it anyway and we keep searching for new things. Things that are just similar but different enough to not bore or ostracize us. Genres exist for reasons and one of those reasons is that people like seeing the same shit. Which isn't a bad thing. Also I don't have recs because I don't like the concept much myself. It's more just a thing I scroll past where fics are concerned.
I honestly don't have much of an idea yet. It's a leftover idea fragment from a few years ago. Basically it's an urban fantasy setting, there's a door in an abandoned building, and when you open it, demons come out. And then you beat them up. Translating that into homestuck makes it more of an issue. Not all the demons are horrible. What if the humans and demons actually like (or at least tolerate) each other? What about the ones that are horrible? Can something be done about them? Also, do I have a plot?
My Nearly Full Proof Method For Fanfic Finding is to visit the book marks of writers whose work I've read and liked, or the bookmarks of people who like my writing, (because I generally write about what I like, so if they like similar things, chances are I will like what they like.) This has only occasionally backfired on me.
i feel like i SHOULD have some recs for you but i haven't read any demonstucks in years besides some rps that i did a while back (lingering shame issues from all-AUs-are-bad friend). i will definitely keep you in mind while i slide back into my demon dumpster, though!
Only Demonstuck I'm familiar with other than Asuka's is an Erisol one were Eridan is and aging wizard and Sollux is his lover/familiar. I can't seem to find it now, it was pretty well written but did not come equipped with a happy ending. Okay how could I forget CurliecueCal's Shadowbound AU. Packstuck has some demon elements in there too. Those are my rec's for that specific trope so far.
I remember my friend the frog had a demon stuck AU, but I think they deleted everything:/ ....actually no wait I JUST saw a demon stuck AU featuring demon god Dersekids and Hunter Prospitians. Good art too.
