IN HALES Spoiler: AAA AAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAA IM GOING TO CRY I LOVE HOMESTUCK
Spoiler: LMAO This is the worst thing to focus on but now that it's canon that they're all in their 20s [physically?] antis can't call people pedos for shipping them AHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA SUCK IT.
I FUCKING SAT AND WEPT FOR SIX MINUTES STRAIGHT FINALLY CLOSURE Spoiler: spoilers is this when the time loop closes?? does he gather the Gang and go to fight Caliborn and thus create the juju NOW? AAAaaaaaAAAAA ALSO I AM ONLY MAD ABOUT ONE THING WHERE. THE FUCK. IS ARQUIUS.
Spoiler: no gripes, only headcanons now I choose to believe the kingdoms are just symbolic capitals honoring the traditional architecture and ways of life of the four peoples of the new world, and don't actually reflect population distributions (see also dave and jade living in troll kingdom) Let's also headcanon that they're all actually governed by parliaments of 13.
i wondered if there'd be something today, 10/25 and all ... looks like i was right :D yayyyyy okay off to watch the video now
Spoiler: Steven Universe, late season 1 This is what I am feeling like, more or less. My advice to one of my friends was "shut up and enjoy the gay".
Spoiler: also ITS FUCKHANDS MCGEE IN HIS LAST CANONICAL APPEARANCE, GETTING SUCKED INTO THE GODDAMN VOID
Spoiler and also... nothing really changed, for them. no one has progressed or broken out of their predetermined roles. John lives in a precise replica of his old home. Jane rebuilt CrockerCorp just like it used to be. Hell, they LITERALLY skipped past all the development to get to the future. And the future they found is more of the same predetermined old. Humans with humans in the human kingdom, trolls with trolls, carapaces with carapaces, and consorts with consorts, ruled over by immortal gods just like SBURB preordained (and, btw, what like. happened to the governments that existed DURING THAT TIME JUMP. and also do any of the kids know anything about civics or governance.) Which means the ending CAN'T have been any of those theories about them busting out of the narrative, because they're dancing along to their roles happily as can be. So it's just.... I'm tired.
Wait. Uh, I- hmm... Spoiler So uh. The hole in the dreambubbles. Where all the... dreambubbles... are getting sucked into. What's going on there? Is that like. The event horizon of the universe? Is it going to stop, or just go on forever?
i was actually thinking about that Spoiler: game spoips?? does the game stuff explicitly state they take place on earth/alternia? or could this new info mean the troll kids and human kids just got swapped on the same planet. it would explain the wonky family tree for joey if ectobiology was involoved
Spoiler: #problematic that implies jake married a girl he probably helped create. dear god jake think of the children
Spoiler I kinda love Dirk and Jake tho. Just two goofy dudes, hanging out with a bunch of animal bros, GCATvrossprite^2 or whatever the fuck he's called, and their robot replica of Lord English. Dirk absolutely fucked that robot.
Ok. Ok. This isn't the epilogue, it's just post-canon content. The epilogue is still coming. I will still get to see Davepeta, I must believe.
Spoiler Maybe... Homestuck was always meant as a meta-tragedy, to a degree? The characters earned a happy ending. They have babies and weddings and kingdoms and power. They've got what they wished for, and rule massive pre-ordained kingdoms that run perfectly and are completely fine with letting a bunch of PTSD-addled teenagers from another dimension rule them like it's Narnia. But they didn't escape fate. The story gave them a pre-ordained path to follow, with a set story. And every attempt at breaking out of that story lead to ruination and chaos, with some lurking figure that represents time chasing after them and trying to force them to a much more overtly tragic end. So they left. Their story is they win and become kings, so they left and became kings. Vriska stayed to fight, as did thousands of ghosts, and all that it got them was an implied onscreen annihilation that can never be confirmed as the epilogue has it with just a confirmed Nepeta-death (wow, thanks for the dead cat again, Hussi) and Terezi going through the abandoned arcs in a quixotic attempt at some resolution. Jane became the leader of (red) Crockercorp, Dave and Karkat and Jade are never confirmed, only implied, thousands off off-screen babies and the villains can only scream to the side with "This story is not over. You're just going for the easy ending. Come back here and get the TRUE ending" only for John to shut it down.
Wait is there anything said that this isn't the epilogue? Because I need Arquius. I need him. Without him they wouldn't have been able to freaking complete the game. He did all the game legwork in the final hour! With NO LEGS.
