(yes, that's all ice. three of my coworkers got into an accident in front of my workplace; one had to go to the hospital and one totaled her car)

Friday it got up to 80f, then Saturday it was less than 55f, 75f yesterday, 55f today, and 72f is the prediction for tomorrow. (That's approximately 27 - 13 - 24 - 13 - 22 in Celsius.) This is flaming bullshit.

40f and sunny, good god. My chickens are already out pecking and scratching even though most of their run is still ass deep in snow. We've got a few more days of this and it's going to spoil me because we probably won't get anywhere this close to a real spring here again until mid April.

*compulsively looks through seed catalogs anyway. *

On the one hand, a whole 3 days of rain is going to do WONDERS for bringing the drought damage down even further. On the other, rain does not play nice with formerly broken bones.

I'm going to explain this year in my city to you.
Early spring: fucking cold. below freezing temperatures well into march.
Late spring: WET. we had floods all across my state
summer: hot as hell. i think we broke temperature records a couple times.
early fall: dry. there was about a three month period where we didn't see a single drop of rain.
late fall: shit's on fire yo. like literally, a couple mountainsides caught fire and burned for a week and a half straight.
winter: warm. why is it so warm? we had one good freeze, and it was back in the 60s three days later.

It remains foggy here. It rained last night. It's January, in a region not exactly known for its mild winters! What to heck.
