Lifestream Boogaloo, a FF7 thread

OHHHHH MAN, VINCENT... smaller ryn was so confused first run through i didnt know i could get him, and then i did and i was in love and ahhhh.

and the attention to detail, the scratches in the tanks, the easter eggs.. fuck i love this game.

 

cloud, aerith, and red XIII are my favourites of the playable cast, but also: the turks???? the turks are so good and i love them?????? they're just trying to do their jobs and all this crazy shit keeps happening to them specifically,

especially reno and rude and their interactions, i love those bozos

 

tiny ryn also appreciated "Miss Cloud" and still is giddy with excitement at those parts, and I'm pointing to that as an early ":DDDDD" moment in what was gonna turn out to be a lifetime of gender and presentation fuckery on my end. (also special shoutout to Barret admiring himself in his sailor suit later, what a cute. ....and poor Nanaki and his seasickness, and the waddling around in the suit too gfjlf)

 

I started a replay since I had the steam version since it came out but hadn't felt like playing it because my List is loooong. But Shit is Happening and going back to the comfort of my childhood is helping.

So, things I've remembered: Did anyone else hang out grinding until the last possible second at that first reactor? Also that FUCKING "push the buttons at the same time" puzzle in the second. Fuck that shit.

Trying to catch a fucking chocobo to cross the march, before you can breed them. ARRRRGH.

Everything about Junon. It's one fuck after another.

Also I never forgot but haven't been able to appreciate it since I lost the copy of the soundtrack my moirail burned for me: THE MUSIC. There is not a single song that makes me want to hurry out of an area so I can stop listening to it. There ARE songs that make me want to hurry out of an area because they sound like bad news though :P

 

oh man, once i get more of Witcher 3 done im gonna do my first replay in Years and its gonna be fun.

biiiiiig agree on the music tho, augh. i love covers of the tunes as well, and music box versions too.

I did not know I wanted that, but only because I didn’t imagine anything like it might be attainable. In this year 2O19 (because some of us are too edgy for the letter K today) many things are terrible, but half the things you never dared dream of have been uploaded to youtube.

 

It's so good, I linked it in the translations thread a while back. Also made an enthusiastic post detailing exactly how it got all the right notes for me in my BB thread as well lol

I would like more of that for other games as well, but with the somewhat unique circumstances surrounding the FF7 translation, it's especially informative and interesting
