@seebs Uh so every time I try and check what I can make with an arcane queen bee in NEI I get disconnected. It's happened 3 times now. Dunno what's up with that.

Um, I'm trying to get into the pack and it crashes on loading. While it tries to load NEI Addons during step 4 of 7, it stops loading and crashes. The console blames Java: java.lang.reflect.invocationtargetexception
And sometimes it's a problem with the heap space still, after trying to launch Mod Tweaker 2. Is that extremely important, or can it be removed from the pack?

EDIT: Never mind! I installed 64-bit Java and it all works now!

I was wandering around, looking at everyone's places, and they're so damn impressive, man, like rows and rows of crops and like, boundaries made out of fancy fences and berry bush hedges, and it's all so ORGANized, like, y'all got this whole industriousness thing DOwn, man, and i look back at my raggy-ass place and go eeeeh, it looks like i've just been doing nothing... but then I remember I have been doing something, I have been working very hard on making it look like I'm doing nothing. you see. I lub my lil wilderness valleys yes i do.

Also, i'm looking into an alchemizer block, which will require, what, two potion stands, two gold ingots... do blitz rods work at all for potion stands? i only have one anyway, I need 2... but anyway once i got the that up an running i shall make a whole bunch of rotton meat into leather for to make safari nets so i can catch more happy little birds to bring back to my forest also i m on ambien. Bout to ambien dial th minecraft server how'zat gon go

 

Haphazard to-do list.

GATHER RESOURCES
-Nearby non-vanilla resources are largely Forestry and Thaumcraft, and Hobo gave me an Alloy Smelter that's EnderIO. Focus on learning how those mods work.
-What mod uses oil? I found a lot of that under the seabed.
-Better weapons and armor.
-Things to facilitate underwater movement too, because boats suck.

REHABILITATE SQUIDWARDS
-Light up the village, make an actual floor, fence it in, and keep the poor bastards from dying. Need oak wood for that, to match the rest of the place. That's already well on its way with my tree farm.

CONSTRUCT FORTRESS
-Maybe convert the guard tower?
-Build at the top of the island where I'm farming/mining?
-Or build right near the village and connect it up. Maybe even in the same style as their buildings, only bigger and fancier, and with a hidden underwater base beneath it that's all futuristic...
-(that's only feasible after I've gotten a lot of resources though, so maybe use guard tower in interim)

 

I'm going to build an underground Deep Storage Facility. It'll be full of Phials of elements and also have a holodeck from AE2

 

For everyone's information, I am expanding the railway to my house from LPBeast's station.
If I could have some help with the actual rails (I have no experience with RailCraft), that would be awesome. I've already built the base where the rails will go.

 

@nickjay228 still working out my computer issues, but what you want to do is build a Coke Oven and cook coal it it, that will make coal and creosote. Iirc you can make wooden rails but any cart going over them will move REALLY SLOWLY. (i think the oven is a 3x3 cube of coke oven brick blocks w the middle missing but it's been a while since I did this)

If I can get on within the next few days Ill be happy to help out!

EDIT: turns out it only has 4, which explains A LOT. Time for more ram!

 

I had the most intense anxiety dream about Minecraft this morning, and it was set on this server.

I was trying to get the railroad tracks between my place and Seebs' sorted out, and got in an argument with a neighbor who was sticking down tracks pointed the wrong direction with super glue (which was apparently a thing) and then it turned out there were some new super-aggressive territorial players on the server who were all about showing everybody How To Minecraft Right, which to them meant maxing out all possible tech, utilizing all resources to their utmost, conquering everyone else's territory, flattening it out, and surrounding it with impenetrable black walls... that also moved and ate other peoples' territory. They seemed almost personally offended by my low-tech hole in the ground base, probably because they're a representation of my anxiety at same, and were all like "Oh what, you're wasting all this stuff and just sitting here waiting to be conquered." So they set all my stuff on fire.

Then I tried to flip the table. The table you keep Minecrafts on. Because that's a thing. It worked though because my dream, that's why. Then they got pissed cause I was cheating, and I got pissed because how was that cheating and what they were doing not, and I yelled for Seebs to roll back the server because they were being jerks. I literally woke up screaming with rage this morning.

(I'm reducing one of my meds. This is probably why.)

Anyway I got on this afternoon and punched flowers in Seebs' yard for a while but then the server kicked me and I didn't bother getting back on. But at some point I'm gonna do some more sparkly-flower landscaping because sparkly-flower landscaping is theraputic, as is punching sparkly flowers to gather for landscaping. Basically yay for sparkly flowers. And the Jaded Amaranthus in Seebs' yard. Sparkly flowers that generate sparkly flowers are awesome.

 

@vegacoyote I know in your dream these were rival players, but the mental image of featureless black monoliths stretching from bedrock to clouds, slowly expanding and eating the world, made me think of a really terrifying endgame boss. (maybe Endermen, gone the way of the Borg...)

 

Update, I did race-to-64 flower stacks instead of landscaping. I wanted to get an idea of relative generation frequencies between flower types. Which meant I had to keep clearing the generation yard and there is now flers errywhere. Orange won the race by the way. Dark green came in second, black and white tied for third, purple came in second-to-last and light gray came in last, but only by one flower.

I'll... be back on tomorrow to clean some of that up and landscape proper-like. Meantime anyone wants some Mystical Flowers I planted them behind the flower square and also next to Seeb's pet grumble-dude because I thought he needed cheering up.
