i just tried out the 'life in the village' modpack and it is SO CUTE. extremely low tech and almost no magic, which i'm not used to, but it's making it actually worthwhile to homestead and farm. the main appeal is millennaire, plus some tremendously goofy shit like 'pinkly sheep' which is all about animal poo? it's weird and funny and i like it. also, 'prefab' is the best mod and every pack should include it. INSTANT STARTER HOUSE. no more spending your first hours piling up dirt in a cube. get right to the game part. LOVE.
it's been a while since i took my time and just built a really nice house, i'd forgotten how much i like it. please to enjoy my prairie craftsman house. i started with the prairie starter house from 'prefab', where i'd been living for quite a while. but i needed a lot more room. rather than build a new house or just dig an underground lair, i decided to see if i could expand the house while keeping the same aesthetic. cantilevered sunroom! it's not fallingwater but it doesn't suck the other side's a bit more conventional side entry with glass door mosaic floor, and a fireplace that i nearly burned the place down with first go round basement is a work in progress, i ran out of limestone, but there'll be plenty of storage space i forgot to screenshot the second floor but there's nothing in there yet so not much to see.
Working on a main base/ dwarven town area in stoneblock. Done with initial excavation, now onto the terraforming and structure building. Featuring Mystery Rooster, my best and only friend after all the log chickens attempted to phase themselves into walls.
got the shells of the buildings mostly done, need to excavate out a couple of them where they go into the wall, but the exterior is done on everything now!
since stoneblock doesn't have the bookshelf mod (i can't remember the name right now, it's on the tip of my tongue though...) you can use cooking for blockheads spice racks for any item in the game. Same for the tool racks, but the spice racks have more storage space on them. They're really good for music discs and the little press plates for applied energistics.
IMPORTANT NEWS ALERT ANIMANIA SHEEP CURL UP IN A CUDDLE PILE TO SLEEP LIKE LITTLE WOOLY LOAF CHILDS and their wee tails wag i'm dead
And the palace is now complete! I also finished my resource gathering, and built the start of my computer system. Next project is going to be setting up a mob farm, or maybe a chicken farm.
players of modded minecraft: what are some things to do with huge amounts of rf power? just like. vast tracts of power. like when you get to the point where the only thing limiting your power output is how many times you feel like clicking your ae2 crafting terminal, you know? whenever i get to that stage, i just get all depressed and lose interest in my world. i can faceroll anything, i don't need tool or armor upgrades... it'd be a good time to start Big Huge Builds, but i can't think of any that need a lot of power. when i look up big and cool builds, it's mostly just vanilla block placement to make stuff look like stuff, not anything functional and powered. maybe there is not such thing, and i'm doomed always to give up on my solo worlds when they get too easy. but i'm hoping there's some cool ideas that never occurred to me!
When i get to that point i set up my ae2 system to be completely automated. Depending on the mods you have, there are some that consume vast amounts of resources. Draconic evolution and Avaritia come to mind. Avaritia uses singularities to make infinity ingots, neutronium ingots etc. (I think thats the name of that one.) Draconic evolution makes super op tools and weapons and machines. Including one of the coolest power storage systems in the game. https://ftbwiki.org/Avaritia https://ftbwiki.org/Draconic_Evolution
hm, the modpack i'm playing does have draconic evolution, and i did just bring back like 20 stacks of draconium dust from the end... i really want to think of a build idea that makes use of that op-ness, tho. like... idk, a dragon city or some crazy thing. i can make stacks of diamond blocks, but what FOR? is the question i want to answer.
I'd go for the draconic evolution power storage multiblock first. The generator second. The generator is the most powerful in the game (usually) and makes insane amounts of power, but that's only because draconic evolution is designed to be an end game mod that takes large amounts of resources and power to get everything to the max tier.
i've heard it has hella op bosses that just insta kill you if you don't have the correct tier of gear. which... doesn't really appeal to me, honestly? though i might still have a go at them someday. i really prefer agriculture and industry. if i wanted to play warcraft i'd play warcraft. is my reaction to a lot of the fighty-questy mods.
i'm in the nether, mining for meat like ya do (did you know the forestry centrifuge will separate those biomes o plenty meat blocks into steaks and drumsticks and stuff??? USEFUL)
