Many years of practice and a little bit of cheating. My nails haven't been unpainted for more than a day at a time since 2014
We're complete opposites then, since I started clinical rotations in 2014 and my nails haven't been painted since. (We're not allowed nail polish in hospital)
Ooohhh, pretty flower nails! Fuck, I'm in the mood for pretty things right now. I wanna paint my nails and wear fun earrings and put on eye makeup.
This week's manicure was experimental while I was figuring out how to do french tips. It turned out pretty well, I think, and taught me what I need to know for my next manicure.
Ty! you would not believe how hard it is to get tiny rhinestones on without getting glue all over your fingers. In other news I need to figure out how to get super glue off my fingers
well, nail glue, which is basically superglue but for nails. and they're on top of like three layers of nail polish so when i peel them off they'll peel off little circles of polish with them, rather than ripping up my nail. I already had to do it with one that ended up off center
@Sethrial MacCoill you can use a shitty white eyeliner pencil as a gem picker-upper, they also make special wax pencils for the same purpose but eyeliner should work
China glaze "drink up witches" Pinpai black stamping polish. Loreal "top of the line" topcoat (edited to use a pic where my hands weren't covered in green dye)
We've Achieved Something, for the first time in months. Spoiler: how big are phone pics Hard Candy "crush on caribbean" over Fresh Paint "Glass Slipper". Not shown: the fucking mess I made of the other side trying to paint details with my non-dominant hand.
@Loq Those are super pretty! I love the detail with the sparkly blue. As a small piece of constructive criticism, if you wait a day or two between painting and taking pictures the gloopy bits around the edges of your nails will wear off and they'll make a much cleaner and more professional looking pic for you to share. I can tell you put a lot of work into these, and a slightly cleaned up picture will really bring that out.
You can also take a q-tip or angled cleaning brush- as such- dip in polish remover and neaten up the edges.
can't get a super good pic but finally did my nails again! irl they're between an icy color and a soft teal. Revlon Spun Sugar w/ two coats of Sparks Fly from that sally hansen Triple Shine line on top. i think next time ill do spun sugar with a different kind of covering tho. more even glitter, or maybe a tinge of something.. this glitter's so chunky that it looks great, but if it messes up i basically have to redo an entire nail 8I
