for larger stories - keep adding "what ifs" and throwing more plot complications at your characters before letting them resolve their overall plot!
fun fact: there's a couple challenges in habitica for nanowrimo. other fun fact: oops i did 15 damage to the people in my habitica party DX eta: tired and i want to sleep but i just did about 1000 words today! woot!
I managed a thousand terrible words today. probably could have managed more, or not have taken the whole day to write them, if I hadn't gotten distracted and watched too many youtube videos instead why are they so bad. why am I so sleepy. what are character motivations.
It's contagious, but at least I know why I couldn't get that last 500. (The answer is capitalism the 8-hour retail shift eating my spoons, that I even managed to crack 1000 was impressive.)
I need to buckle down this weekend and not only get in the two 4000+ word days I had planned, but also build a big lead. I'll be out of town next weekend and I don't know how much I'll be able to write. Bring on the caffeine, I guess. :D
Managed 300 or so words tonight, I'm very drained and fatigued. But as long as I write at least one word a day, I consider that winning c:
would anybody be interested in word sprints/wars/whatever the term is? I've never done them on the nanowrimo forums, but it sounds like it might be fun? plus if it's just 5 or 10 minutes challenges, that feels a lot more manageable, and more social than just 'write by yourself, for the length of this song' or whatever I'm not really big on the competitive aspect personally, I'd definitely think of it as 'we're doing this together! yay! :D"
My brain is currently doing the mental equivalent of spinning around in an office chair with its middle fingers sticking up at me, so I'm very much interested in some companionable writing.
Aaaaah, I miss doing NaNo but: 1. This year the extra responsibility might very well actually physically kill me (or at least make me ill) because DANG do I have a lot on my plate right now 2. I was very, VERY proeminent in my region as [birthname] - was actually an ML for several years - and that's where I had the most fun because Brazilian wrimos know how to party, but I really don't know how to interact with those same people as Léo, 3. I don't have anything planned and I'm very much a planner I'm really gonna get organized to do NaNo next year, though.
Hopefully i'll be able to push out some more words tomorrow. I just mostly did handwritten notes today because I decided to SUDDENLY MURDER MYSTERY even though I've never done one before and I needed at least a little bit of prep work.
blegh i'd be behind but i kind of want to start? idk i have No Plot whatsoever so idek what i'd even write about but i had fun doing it last year. maybe logging into the web site will give me ideas
i have started! im raxyl on there. im doing original fiction, i went off a random prompt i found. it's awful, but i got to 1k. i think im going to try and wrap this prompt up and go back to writing fanfic, which is what i did last year too
