Spoiler: moderate sexual content, consent issues, underage sex and kink (all fictional) I want to do a fic where Hinata discovers she likes to be dominant. I don't headcanon Naruto as being into submission exactly but I do think he's into Hinata's fighting style (hesitant until it isn't, then quick and brutal) and could very quickly get into her doing dominance displays; he wouldn't so much "submit" as make heart eyes at her while she bashed him over the head with her club and dragged him into her cave to be ravished. (Hilariously enough this is making me think of Padmé/Anakin. Except I do think Anakin is subby; he just also does the "*heart eyes* look at my girlfriend she's so badass I love her" thing.) Unfortunately I suspect Hinata would be ignorant about sex, having primarily gotten some lectures about protecting her virtue from peer pressure plus maybe a spot of accidental voyeurism, and Naruto would be educated mainly through whatever porn he encountered as an unsupervised orphan. (He might, like, know more about harems than about monogamy, or some other totally bizarre bias.) Anyone's guess as to whether either of them would have heard of a condom. So even though they care about each other a lot, I can see them just sort of... doing it first, and figuring out how to talk about it afterward. Which is not a great way to handle this stuff! But I still think it can be part of a reasonably healthy relationship, when they've both agreed that they want to be closer and aren't sure how. I wrote a chunk of this and got stuck on the part where Hinata is all "what have I done?" angsty and Naruto is trying to get through to her to say, hey, it's not that big a deal, can we talk about it is all. I think she'd eventually calm down enough to apologize for freaking out, then they'd establish coherent communication and go from there, maybe?
Spoiler: Response idk, I headcanon that the ninja academy would be pretty thorough about making sure the kids know about sex, although those lessons would probably be more oriented towards "here's how to avoid getting pregnant/avoid getting someone else pregnant, here's how to avoid catching STDs, here's how to notice if someone is trying to pressure you into sleeping with them or trying to dose your drink" type of practical advice they'd need in the field, with the jonin instructor and/or the family (if the kid comes from a clan) expected to do any more detailed teaching that the kid might need. (Although the jonin instructor is definitely not supposed to do any practical teaching there. More "here's how to deal with relationships not working out" and "here's how to navigate being hit on" Whether or not Naruto got those lessons is anyone's guess, but is probably unlikely. And I'd imagine that there's probably an exemption for clan ninja students for their parents or an instructor appointed by their clan head to teach them that set of lessons, with the caveat that the student does have to demonstrate adequate mastery of any seals and the proper use of any herbal medications. Which would mean that Hinata's knowledge could definitely be a lot more bare-bones than her classmates would expect it to be.
hi i somehow dodged consuming naruto until these past few weeks and i'm in hell now some things from watching three episodes of naruto kai: -i thought sasunaru was just another Dudes Are Moderately Good Friends ship. oh boy howdy was i wrong. i was so wrong. -kakashi's sheer bastardice especially at the start is un-fucking-rivaled. i love him so very much -god i wish sakura were allowed to do literally anything??? please. please. kishimoto i'm begging you girls are people too. honestly tempted to write naruto but genderswap, and usually that doesn't interest me -i can't wait for orochimaru to show up

god help me i've been thinking about writing naruto fic again. i've been chewing over the idea of sasuke at sixteen with orochimaru, learning time travel no jutsu and swapping himself back to the night itachi killed the clan, to prevent it. but the thing is, that eight year old kiddo would then be dumped in the future. which is why orochimaru is down to help sasuke with this in the first place. sasuke gets to fix the timeline (one timeline, anyway), and orochimaru gets an eight year old vessel to do fucked up shit with. but then naruto and sakura bust in and operation Rescue Sasuke is a success! sort of! now they have a very confused young sasuke to deal with. who is adorable and sweet and confused and not a jackass yet on account of itachi didn't fuck his entire life up personally. anyway the fic would go on from there, mostly naruto and sakura being like 'well uh shit, it's.... sasuke, we can't not... take care of him, but.......... he's eight, what do we do with an eight year old'. and sasuke coming to terms with being eight years in the future and his whole clan being dead and his peer group being cool teenagers and naruto being a very cool older brother and his actual older brother being a bad guy apparently. i don;t think there'd be an ending tho cuz i don't think something like this would really END. also, endings are hard.
That reminds me of an idea for a fanfic idea I have that I haven't worked on: how Sakura passed the chuunin exams. How does she pass the Chuunin exams without a team? Unless she got promoted as the Hokage's apprentice? Unless she was put with a temporary team... and who would this temporary team be? How would Sakura work with someone who isn't Naruto or Sasuke, and how does having someone who takes her seriously as a peer affect her confidence and her realizations about her team and herself as kid? I keep trying to think which of my Ocharacters would make for a good team with her.
I generally dislike time travel as a plot device but this? I'd give it a chapter or two, at least. Also, it feels like it is, or could easily be read as, a metaphor for one of the things that can happen to abused and neglected children: they spend their youth as adults, and then come out the other side of the traumatic situation helpless as children. Especially with the thing where he rescues himself once and then can't rescue himself again, and has to be rescued by someone else. that's. That's the GOOD character development.

heck, i've already read all of those repeatedly. survival of the fittest is excellent, you'll like it when you get there. sometimes at work i daydream of writing a fic where SAKURA is the kyuubi vessel, btw. it would be interesting because in my opinion sakura isn't an inherently nice person: she learned kindness from naruto, ino, and rock lee, and i think also a bit of how not to be from tsunadae. i think as a kid she's so terrified of being bullied and outcast again, that she's incredibly status conscious and conservative about who to associate with and how to behave. if she was the demon container, and outcast without ever being allowed to know WHY, up until age twelve or so? she'd be a total mess. but i like the thought of her being determined to be like, such a perfect, well-behaved (beautiful) kunoichi that she earned her way into everyone's good graces. i also like the thought of her sussing out that she's the kyuubi's container all on her own, because she's a hell of a lot more observant and analytical than naruto as a kid, and she'd be able to put the pieces together better than naruto could. sakura deliberately leaning INTO the myths of fox-spirits as beautiful trickster women who get their way through graceful deception, but in a really desperate, sad, little-girl-playing-grownup way. the most beautiful, prissy, cold, perfectly-mannered twelve year old-- and vicious as hell. also, sakura with a monstrous amount of chakra as well as a fastidious nature that lends itself to precise control? she could really be spectacular, if anyone gave her a chance.

just finished watching the bridge scene with jade and like what the fuck ?? we were both sobbing over it, like, i KNEW the details of what happened (i've read both their wiki articles...) and yet somehow it didn't encompass the sheer scope of the Tragic Beauty that was zabuza's "i'll see you in hell" to gato and then immediately afterwards his "i hope i can go to wherever you're going" to haku. everything about that scene gives me more emotions than i ever expected to have over fuckin, naruto, what the FUCK ,
