sometimes when people post kintsugi screencaps they're yellow/tan, but even across multiple devices mine is predominantly purple with some blue. what causes the difference?

 

There's an alternate color scheme in the Preferences menu.

 

There are two color schemes for the forums! One of them is that yellow/tan/green one, and one is the purple/blue one. So peoples' screencaps show which color set they're using.

You can change the settings in your preferences, with the style option:

The browns one looks better with the site's logo, but I can't stand the color contrast. :(

 

I only ever use the default blue, I think it goes okay with the logo, and the text colours and such on the alternative scheme don't work for me.

 

i cant use the other color scheme bc new is jarring and Distressing

 

I forgot the site was default cool colors tbh, my brain parses that as a distressing too bright color (as in it causes my screen to emit too much light). Links don't have as much contrast, though, unfortunately.

Edit: also that is like. Intensely purple to me, no matter what screen I'm using. It's blue to some people?

 

Same hat! When i first joined the forum i was like "okay im gonna have to not be on here often" and then the alt scheme was added and now i come here all the time haha

It's on the borderline, so different people class it as blue or people depending.

as you can see, autocorrect happens when I'm not all awake.

 

@sirsparklepants maybe recalibrate your monitor? it's very a very pale lilacy colour, so i'm not sure what could cause it to be 'intense' apart from either a miscalibrated screen or some kind of addon you have that changes the screen colour interacting badly with Kintsugi.

 

I mostly use kintsugi on my phone or tablet - it's a sensory processing thing, pastels are screamingly bright to my brain because they contain so much white.

 

the default style looks purple to me too!!

and honestly, i'm advocating for a third color scheme using the same teal/pale aqua as luka's old tumblr theme, because i think it matches nicely with the logo without being the jarring green/brown of the alt color scheme, and also because those are my favorite colors.

 

Oh damn, I would willingly abandon the purble scheme for that. *u*
