Okay, I don't know if this is the right place to ask but is there a place where I can post a thread or something to look for people to RP with? I found the general RP forum of course but I'm not sure if this is something I overlooked or that doesn't exist. I'm not so into group RP so something for one on one RP would be great.
I have a question about where to put something. I've always wanted to try writing an audience-participation story, kind of like Homestuck when it still had a suggestion box, or chan-style Quests (Ruby Quest springs to mind). Where would I put something like that here, assuming people would read/enjoy it?
I'd personally lean towards Make It So, but there's something similar (albeit jokey) being done in It's Galley's Turn, so there's precedent for either! (And fwiw, I'd be interested and I think others would be too!)
Galley's Turn was my initial thought, Make It So seems like a good alternative if it doesn't seem to fit there. Cheers all!
Just about got the initial thing done, but I figured I should ask (assuming people had more advice) would a separate OOC thread for deciding the actions of the protagonist and commmenting make sense, rather than dragging it through the main story thread? It's been bugging me, after all.
Depends on how big the group is gonna be. If it's big enough that OOC stuff would get lost, then you should make a separate thread. A mod can move it later if you decide not to.
There should be a button above the text entry box that's a paragraph with a cursor illustration. Click on that, and there should be a drop down menu with a spoiler option. Alternatively you can write (SPOILER)(/SPOILER) with square brackets [] instead of parentheses, and anything between those two tags is spoiler cut.
Hey. I mainly came here because there are some opinions I've seen argued here and in the associated Tumblr communities that bug me and I want to argue against. I know that's allowed, but is it okay or would you all rather I didn't?
I think that would probably depend on what kind of things you want to argue about. Discourse is fine, but we just got off a half-year stint of an incredibly circuitous and one-sided argument, so I imagine people will be eyeballing this question with some worry.
There are, at least, no rules against arguing with the community party line. In most cases short of outright harassment and hate speech, the worst that will happen is a massive wanky argument and a lot of people disliking you.
