how does 'this should be the policy going forward' say that this is currently happening or has? two different issues, and people seem to be treating one with as much pushback as the other because they're being conflated.

 

Okay. I get that now. You're right, I don't think 'I'm uncomfortable with this discussion' is a reason not to have the discussion, although it might be a reason for someone to tap out.

I do not have problems with people wanting more or better safety measures. I Do have ap roblem with people suddenly deciding a fade to black is the same as a writrten out sex scene, because that sort of broading of what is sexual yes, upsets me.

 

yes, that's it. feeling anxious or uncomfortable is legitimate, it just needs to be a part of actual safety discussion as little as possible and processed/given support for elsewhere.

I think it's the implication that is has been happening. Why does it have to be 'the policy going forward' when it's already been the policy so far? The ONLY incident I can think of that's anywhere like what's been implied is Wendy and Maxim, and Wendy is 16, they're co-workers, and I don't even think there's been anything implying they're having sex? And there's only one minor (who's 17) player in the WT rp anyway, and if that's a hard line then I guess we'll have to put his rping on pause until his next birthday.

There has also been a few uncomfortable times in the spr... that caused people to call a pause, have a discussion ooc, and hash out stuff going forward that's basically what has already been suggested in this thread. Except now I guess fade-to-blacks or whatever are not okay now? I don't even really get the logic of the objections and it's bugging me.

 

Wrench had a thing with one of the Cronuses briefly. It was FTB because SPR requires FTB (as does WT for that matter, though we have an 18+ thread that nobody has yet felt the need to make use of) But both the characters are adults and if anyone thinks that Cronus is a normal person and everything he does is portrayed as absolutely fabulous behaviour I don't know how to help that person.

Oh, this reminds me: while we're discussing policy wrt potential sexual activity in areas where minors are present, can we have a rule against sexual (i.e., pornography and/or images of genitals) as icons if the characters are going to be playing in PG-13 areas?

 

the thing is that i think a big part of the clash here is people trying to discuss what is and is not okay going forward, because people are having different definitions? honestly i think 'what we all agree or don't agree to do going forward' and 'whether this has happened before' are two different subjects that really need separate threads to get any resolution for either.
