[kicks down the door to this thread] do you guys know wonderfulworldofmoi ? because i want to share with you the lovely trucy she drew for me! Spoiler
Socute Also @MayaaFeys I was wondering if you've read Turnabout Bloodline? Cause it does the "there's a reason to look into the Fey family tree and find Miles there" thing.
Finally playing Dual Destinies. oh god my feels no seriously the feels Spoiler: I know, I know, expecting logic from Japanifornian courts... How come public faith in the court system could withstand von Karma, a long-term high-profile prosecutor, being convicted of murder, but not this one emo twenty-one-year-old? For that matter, how did it survive the exposure of Gant, a murderous police chief with the Chief Prosecutor in his pocket? (Also how come Edgeworth doesn't seem to be having more weird feelings about telling someone they killed a parent at a young age?) Spoiler: MORE FEELS but these are SPOILERY FEELS God help me I want a Blackbright AU where Fulbright really is just being coerced, I get so annoyed when people do this kind of thing in Bioshock fandom, wtf is wrong with me and in conclusion: feels.
inorite, that's bizarre. I assume the writers were trying to avoid spoiling the earlier games and not make new players feel like they were missing context, but seriously, it would have been SO EASY to just say that was the last straw in a long string of corruption cases. In the first mainline games alone you have: Spoiler The DL-6 Incident ~Demon Prosecutor Edgeworth~ Turnabout Goodbyes, including the exposure of von Karma Rise from the Ashes and Gant Godot getting a position as a prosecutor with no background check, then committing murder Nick's disbarment for evidence-forging Kristoph's two murders and third near-murder, two happening while he was in jail Daryan Crescend committing murder The incredible shadiness of the entire implementation of the Jurist system in Vera's trial It's even more egregious when you take into account the Investigations games. Spoiler The culprit in the first case of AAI1 is a prosecutor, and the victim is his assigned police detective An extensive smuggling ring, with that prosecutor being a mole for it The Yatagarasu incident- a defense attorney, a detective, and a prosecutor teamed up to rob places and release classified information to the press The fact that one of the Yatagarasu trio was also a mole for the smuggling ring and murdered another member, and got away despite pulling a gun in the middle of the courthouse Auctioning off of trial evidence on the black market, including stolen items, in the room where the prosecutor oversight committee meets A prison warden being blackmailed by a maximum-security prisoner into giving him everything he wants A judge being blackmailed into giving a Not Guilty verdict ANOTHER corrupt Chief Prosecutor, who openly forges and destroys evidence and cooperated on a plan to assassinate and replace the president of a foreign country Like. Sheesh, it wouldn't be that hard for them to say a lot of crap happened in the last ten years and this was just one last thing that got a lot of sensational media coverage and sparked a lot of protests and discussion.
@LadyNighteyes Wow, when you lay it all out like that... Japanifornia is fucked. Good thing we have these dorks who missed their calling as shonen protagonists.
okay hi is there like okay like I want to play the games but is there a particular place that I should get them from so I can play them on my computer
I think even Khu'rain is better off at this rate Spoiler: Slight SoJ Spoilers Despite being caught in the grips of a civil FUCKING WAR I got the DS series from this site and have no problems thus far with any viruses or anything like that (and I have a pretty aggressive AV and adblocker) I don't know if there's any ROMs for the 3DS installments, but I can try and find you some and a 3ds emulator when you get to them!
And that's not even including the stuff in DD or SoJ! And like, hell, the AAI games happen a month after 3-5 with a few days' gap between them, and then Spoiler Nick is disbarred about two weeks after that. Everybody must have been making the equivalent of 2016 jokes about the LA legal system after those two months, and then a year and a half later UR-1 happens and everyone is just like "OH COME ON"
:D thank you!! unfortunately I have looked for 3DS emulators in the past and as of yet there don't seem to be any working ones, but I'm saving up for an actual 3DS, so I'll just have to wait until I can get it and the games once I get to them. but thank you for the DS ones :D I'm gonna start playing them!
...Now I want fic that's just "live from Roger Retinz's news talk show about scandals in Japanifornia spring 2019."
I downloaded the games and went to unpack the files and I realized that my emulator games folder is a giant disorganized mess so that's what I'll be working on for the next hour or so, I guess :P
You will have to make sure your emulator has a "make microphone noise" button for Apollo Justice and the fifth case of the first game. Just fair warning. (Guess who got hung up on 1-5 for ages because I couldn't find the setting for that hotkey? It me.)
I think it does, but I am also fairly certain the microphone noise is just static. is that going to work or
Yeah, that's fine. That's all it detects. (It asks you to blow into the mike during a fingerprinting minigame and it wants you to say "Objection!" at the end of a case, but all it listens for is an increase in volume, so when I was playing on an actual legit copy I accidentally set off the latter by being in a loud room.)
excellent. 'cause one time I tried to play Nintendogs on my computer and yeah static doesn't work for that.
