Yeah, and it's also I think supposed to draw in the sort of person who plays generic cover-based modern military shooters and fuck with their heads :D
Yeah, I know the marketing was all "super generic FPS." So the intent was definitely to draw in the standard FPS crowd and then kick them in the teeth and go "Look at your life. Look at your choices." It's kinda like Cabin in the Woods that way, where it's almost a better experience to go in thinking it'll be schlock. (I guess the closest thing in OFF is an expectation of "quirky RPGmaker indie puzzle-JRPG"? But that's not as set and formulaic a genre.)
